- Praza de Azcarraga - Once the hub of social and political life, it housed the Quartermaster’s House, the Consistory, and the Artillery Warehouse.
At the center of the square, the Fountain of Desire stands out, crafted in the Dungem workshops of Paris in 1870. It is topped by a bronze sculpture of a woman symbolizing desire, holding a lamppost in her right hand. The fountain is surrounded by planters and ash trees, creating a canopy that covers the square. This makes it one of the most beautiful squares in the city.
- Colegiata de Santa Maria do Campo - A Romanesque-ogival style church, constructed between the 12th and 14th centuries. It was situated outside the old city walls, which is reflected in its name. It has been a Heritage Site of Cultural Interest since 1931.
- Xardin de San Carlos - This garden is one of the most distinctive green spaces in the Old City. It is a “hortus conclusus” created around the tomb of General Sir John Moore, a hero of the Battle of Elviña against the French, who died in 1809.
- Avenida da Marina - Besides the Tower of Hercules, another significant symbol of A Coruña is the Galleries of the Navy, which contribute to the city’s nickname “The Crystal City.”
- Plaza Del Humor - The Plaza del Humor is dedicated to humorists. The current design of the square, created by Siro López (a Galician writer and cartoonist), was completed in the early 90s.
It occupies the area of the former Plaza de los Huevos, named for the various products, including eggs, that were sold there.
- Mercado de San Agustin - A traditional market located opposite the Plaza del Humor.
The San Agustín market, with its striking parabolic roof, became a symbol of A Coruña’s modernity in the 1930s. It is one of the most daring, iconic, and purposefully designed buildings of the first half of the twentieth century.
