• Giza Plateau - The Giza Plateau (Arabic: هضبة الجيزة‎) is located in Giza, on the outskirts of Cairo, Egypt. It is the site of the Fourth Dynasty Giza Necropolis, which encompasses the Great Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, the Sphinx, several cemeteries, a workers’ village, and an industrial complex.
• Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - The only fully preserved portrait of the king is a three-inch high ivory figurine discovered in a temple ruin from a later period at Abydos in 1903. All other reliefs and statues were found in fragments, and many of Khufu’s buildings are lost. Information about Khufu is derived from inscriptions in his necropolis at Giza and later documents. For instance, Khufu is the main character mentioned in the Westcar Papyrus from the 13th dynasty.
• Khafre’s Pyramid - Khafre’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple revealed several statues of Khafre, with some discovered in a well in the temple floor by Mariette in 1860. Additional statues were found during subsequent excavations by Sieglin (1909–10), Junker, and Reisner.
• Menkaure Pyramid - Menkaure’s pyramid complex features a valley temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple once housed several statues of Menkaure. During the 5th Dynasty, a smaller ante-temple was added to the valley temple. The mortuary temple also contained several statues of Menkaure.
• Great Sphinx of Giza - Visit The Sphinx, the legendary guardian that stands beside the vast funeral complex, with its lion body and the head of King Chephren.
• The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities - Travel from Giza to Cairo to explore the Egyptian Museum, where you can view the treasures of King Tutankhamen.
• Old Cairo - Proceed to Old Cairo to explore the ancient and oldest Christian part of the city. Visit the churches, including The Hanging Church in Cairo, Abu Sergha Church, and the Jewish Synagogue of Ben Ezra, on a private guided layover tour.
