They will then be transferred in a private air-conditioned limousine to begin their Cairo Layover Tour. This tour includes visits to the Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx, where guests can explore the renowned Egyptian pyramids. There are opportunities to enter the pyramids or enjoy a camel ride around them, though these activities require separate tickets that can be purchased on-site. The visit to the Giza Pyramids and surrounding sites lasts approximately 3 hours.

• Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - The only fully preserved portrait of King Khufu is a three-inch high ivory figurine discovered in a temple ruin at Abydos in 1903. Other reliefs and statues were found in fragments, and many of Khufu’s buildings are lost. Information about Khufu comes from inscriptions in his necropolis at Giza and later documents, such as the Westcar Papyrus from the 13th dynasty.
• Khafre’s Pyramid - Khafre’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple revealed several statues of Khafre, some of which were discovered in a well in the temple floor by Mariette in 1860. Additional statues were found during later excavations by Sieglin (1909–10), Junker, and Reisner.
• Menkaure Pyramid - Menkaure’s pyramid complex features a valley temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple once housed several statues of Menkaure. During the 5th Dynasty, a smaller ante-temple was added to the valley temple. The mortuary temple also contained several statues of Menkaure.
