Amazing day; Excellent guide! - We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Balmoral and surrounds. Jamie made the trip interesting with facts, figures and engaging stories. Jamie gave us just the right amount of time to explore Balmoral, the gardens and grounds. He arranged several nice stops along the way to and fro: River Dee toll bridge, Standing Stones and lunch in Ballater. Very enjoyable and worthwhile outing.

Splendid tour and guide - We had an excellent guide Alex! He was very knowledgeable and was a lot of fun. Balmoral was of course beautiful but so also were the stops we made to and from Balmoral. We (along with the other travelers) wanted to see some Highland Cows and Alex was able to accomplish that making us all happy! Our only suggestion would be if the app could give clearer instructions on where to meet and what to look for when meeting up since it was in a public place. Fortunately Alex found us straight away.

What a Wonderful Way to see the Cairngorms!!!! - What a wonderful tour! Alex, our tour guide knew so much HISTORY AND BACKGROUND with every stop we made! Balmoral Castle and grounds was beautiful! Stops at bridges and spawning streams, the path that the Queen would take on way to Balmoral— the whole trip was wonderful!!!

Relaxing Day at Balmoral Castle - Small group tour with a super driver/guide. After the bustle of Edinburgh this was just what we needed. Stress free walking around the royal gardens on our own. Walk to the standing stones is a slight challenge but so worth the amazing view.

Beguiling, informative and glorious - One of those magic combinations of great itinerary and enthusiastic, optimistic and passionate guide. Balmoral- gardens and ballroom, is a spectacular setting- quite understandable if you are a monarch looking for some downtime you would choose Balmoral. The tour though has much more, local villages, stone circles- quite a spot, idyllic settings and all infused with a good dose of Grampian Escape Tours and, in our case, the enigmatic Jamie Robertson. He is passionate about his home county, knowledgable weaving in modern and current history, some personal tales of family and his own background with some economic background and current trends thrown in…all with a dose of optimistic outlook. It’s both beguiling and engaging and a glorious introduction to the area.

Our driver, Alex, was the best!!!! - Our tour guide was beyond exceptional. Alex Duncan was so knowledgeable, kind and a great driver. He had so many stories that kept our attention and made Scotland come alive for us! His stories regarding the stops we made were so interesting. I was a little disappointed that we could not see more of Balmoral Castle, but the grounds were wonderful! Knowing Queen Elizabeth considered this her "happy place" made it feel so real! I can't say enough about Alex Duncan, you have a real gem on your staff! Thanks, Alex!

On the whole it was enjoyable. - Generally the whole experience was good. Unfortunately, because the group I was with arrived at the castle at 10.20 I missed out on the guided tour of Balmoral which I had paid for in advance. The 1 p.m. tour was also full. I would therefore very much appreciate it if the money paid in advance could be refunded.

Nice tour - It is a pleasant tour, not too many trips in a row. You can't go into Balmoral but the ground around it is worth it. The village of Ballatar is not much more than a nice lunch stop, otherwise there is not much to do. Our tour guide Jamie provided a lot of extra information and made an extra stopover that was not on the schedule, Burn O'vat which turned out to be a beautiful place. The Tomnaverie stone circle is beautifully situated on a hill giving you 360 views. This tour is definitely worth it if you love nature and history.
