Discovered in 1813, these temples were nearly buried in sand. In 1960, with assistance from the Egyptian government and UNESCO, they were relocated to prevent submersion by the Nile’s rising waters. Ramses II constructed the temple primarily to glorify himself, featuring a mural of his renowned victory at the Battle of Kadesh. To the north of Ramses’ temple lies the Nefertari Temple, built by Ramses II for his beloved wife, Queen Nefertari, among his 200 wives and concubines. After the visit, the operator will fly back to Aswan and be transported back to their hotel.
