Accra - Arrive in Accra, Ghana. Landtours representatives will greet you at the airport’s arrival hall, holding a sign with the lead traveler’s name, and assist with your transfer to the hotel. Later, enjoy a welcome dinner at a restaurant, indulging in authentic Ghanaian cuisine.

ACCRA CITY TOUR - Afrofuture Day 1

Accra - Embark on a sightseeing tour of Accra, the capital of Ghana. Discover the city’s highlights during this orientation. Accra has been the capital since 1877 and is also the capital of the Greater Accra Region.

Independence Square - Visit the W.E.B. Du Bois Center for Pan African Culture and the Independence/Black Star Square. Learn about significant events in Ghana’s history and the country’s first president who led Ghana to independence.

Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park - Continue the tour to The Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, honoring Ghana’s first President, Kwame Nkrumah, and his role in African independence. The tour includes visits to Nkrumah’s mausoleum and a museum showcasing his life.

DAY AT LEISURE – CONTINUATION OF AFROFUTURE

Accra Mall - After breakfast, enjoy a day at leisure. In the evening, attend the second day of the Afrofuture festival. Overnight at Urbano Hotel. Meals included: Breakfast.

ACCRA – SLAVE DUNGEON EXPERIENCE

Elmina Castle - ACCRA – SLAVE DUNGEON EXPERIENCE (ELMINA CASTLE) (APPROX. 6 HOURS DRIVE TIME & TOURING)
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and travel to Elmina. Upon arrival, visit Elmina Castle, also known as St. George’s Castle, built by the Portuguese in 1482. Learn about the relationship between western slave traders and African tribes involved in the trans-Atlantic slave trade. Witness the dark and cramped dungeons where local people were held before enduring the long and perilous journey across the Atlantic. Seeing these conditions firsthand is a powerful reminder of the inhumanity of the slave trade. Overnight at AnoMansa Beach Resort. Meals Included: Breakfast.

Kakum National Park and Cape Coast Castle

Kakum National Park - Explore Kakum National Park, one of West Africa’s remaining tropical rain forests. Choose between a 2 km nature walk through the rain forest to discover a variety of exotic flora and fauna and their medicinal values, or take a walk on the canopy walkway suspended 40 meters above the forest floor.

Cape Coast Castle - Visit Cape Coast Castle, built by the Swedes in 1653, to learn about the horrors and conditions enslaved Africans faced on their journey to the New World during the trans-Atlantic slave trade. Walk through the Door of No Return, stand in the slave dungeons, and travel through time.

ELMINA - ACCRA

Accra - (APPROX. 5 HOURS DRIVE TIME & TOURING)
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and return to Accra. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and relax. Overnight at Urbano Hotel. Meals Included: Breakfast.

FAREWELL DEPARTURE

Accra - After breakfast, spend the day shopping and packing. At noon, check out of the hotel and transfer to the airport for check-in and your final departure home.
