Great day!! Great tour guide. - A very emotional experience. About 1.5 hours from Accra. The people of the village were so welcoming and beautiful. And our ceremony was everything we expected. Our tour guide, Kobe, was the best. He listened and curated a visit based on us. After the ceremony, we had a fabulous lunch at Afrikiko. Try the Red Red!!

Great experience! - My guide kweku is very knowledgeable and informed me of everything I wanted and needed to know about the culture and history of Ghana! I also learned about the process of the naming ceremony, the connection of the music and the process/rites of passage for girls before I was given my Ghanian name. If you are looking to reconnect with your roots or are just curious about the history and Culture you MUST experience this tour. Thank You Kweku for all.

What Ceremony? - The year of the return brought man visitors to Ghana. This experience seemed like a way to take advantage of those visitors. There was nothing like a “ceremony” that was performed (based on YouTube views of other ceremonies). They came and picked me up and they were on time so that was good. But that was the only thing good about the event. We sat and drummed for a little bit then explained what the names were and I was handed a certificate with my name on it. The whole experience from pickup to drop off was 60minutes. The information I was provided was common knowledge that my hotel manager told me the night prior. There was nothing good about this tour.
