Accra - Following breakfast, embark on a tour of Accra, a lively city that combines modern and colonial architecture. The first stop is the W.E.B. Du Bois Centre, dedicated to the renowned Pan-Africanist.
Next, pass by Flagstaff House, the president’s residence, and visit the newly enhanced Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, which honors Ghana’s first president. This 5.4-acre site now features a library, conference center, synchronized fountain, mini-amphitheater, and picnic area, offering a rich experience.
Proceed to the Accra Arts & Crafts Centre, where you can explore and negotiate for unique local crafts—Kente cloth, sculptures, jewelry, and more—that reflect Ghana’s heritage and artistry.
Finally, visit Independence Square, where national events are held, and capture photos at the iconic Black Star Square.
ACCRA/CAPE COAST
Cape Coast - After a relaxed morning, travel to Cape Coast in Ghana’s Central Region, a place with significant impact on the lives of Africans in the diaspora. Stop at Mankessim to visit the Posuban Shrine and Fante Village. Continue to Cape Coast and, upon arrival, tour Cape Coast Castle and the Castle Museum. Cape Coast Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was a departure point for Africans sent to slavery in the Americas. The castle houses the infamous “Door of No Return.” This evening, enjoy a guided tour through the historic town of Elmina. At the harbor, observe the colorful fishing canoes preparing for another night’s fishing.

CAPE COAST | KAKUM | CAPE COAST
Cape Coast - This morning, visit Elmina Slave Castle, another UNESCO World Heritage Site built in 1482. This castle was the first European structure in sub-Saharan Africa. Attend a “Return to the Homeland” ceremony called “fiankra,” illustrating how Africans were taken from their homeland without farewells. It also serves as an initiation rite for African returnees. In the afternoon, visit Kakum National Park, one of Ghana’s most renowned parks. Take a brief walk on the forest floor; see birds, butterflies, and possibly glimpse over 40 species of mammals, including monkeys and the elusive forest elephant. Proceed to the canopy walkway. Kakum boasts Africa’s only aerial walkway through the treetops, a 1000-foot-long, seven-bridge walkway with viewing platforms reaching over 150 feet above ground.

Johannesburg - After breakfast, check out of the hotel and head to Accra.
Arrive in Accra in the early afternoon, with the rest of the day free for leisure.
Your guide and driver will accompany you to visit any remaining sights in Accra.
A day room is provided for rest and refreshment before transferring to the airport for your flight to South Africa.
Nonstop flights from Accra to Johannesburg are available on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

Cape Coast - Arrive early morning in Johannesburg, where you’ll be greeted and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon, explore Johannesburg and Soweto from the perspective of freedom fighters. Key stops include:
- Hector Pieterson Memorial, marking where 12-year-old Hector was shot during the Soweto uprisings.
- Regina Mundi Church, a refuge for activists during apartheid; bullet holes from police clashes remain as a poignant reminder.
- Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, the world’s largest hospital, honoring ANC leader Chris Hani.
- Mandela’s House, showcasing memorabilia, photos, and awards of Nelson Mandela.
- Freedom Square, where the historic Freedom Charter was adopted.
JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA
Johannesburg - After breakfast, head to Pilanesberg National Park for a safari. The park is home to Africa’s Big Five—lions, buffalo, leopards, elephants, and rhinos—along with a variety of other species like cheetahs, giraffes, and hippos, plus over 360 bird species.
In the late afternoon, continue to Lesedi Cultural Village, stopping en route at a market offering Southern African goods. At Lesedi, you’ll be welcomed in the Ndebele village, followed by a multimedia presentation on South Africa’s history and a guided tour through four unique cultural villages, each showcasing local customs and language. The day concludes with a traditional performance and a buffet dinner of African fare, featuring meats like impala and crocodile, at the Nyama Choma restaurant. Return to Johannesburg for the night.
JOHANNESBURG | CAPE TOWN
Johannesburg - After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Cape Town. Upon arrival in Cape Town, you will be met, assisted, and transferred to your hotel near the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. The rest of the day is free to enjoy this expansive city, which offers a wide range of entertainment and recreational activities, from outdoor adventures to a vibrant nightlife. The city’s culture is reflected in its architecture, cuisine, and music. Shopping opportunities range from bargaining with vendors at Greenmarket Square Flea Market to visiting upscale and stylish shopping malls. The diverse array of restaurants caters to every taste, from fast-food and casual to elegant, reflecting the multicultural history of the Cape. With its warm summers, mild winters, and welcoming communities, the Mother City is an ideal year-round vacation destination.

You will gain insights into the legacy of apartheid and the country’s struggle for democracy. In Gugulethu township, visit a community-driven project and observe artisans and crafters at work.

CAPE POINT & WINE COUNTRY TOUR
Cape Town - Start the day with a ride on the 360-degree rotating cable car to the top of Table Mountain for panoramic city views. Next, tour the Cape Peninsula, including a visit to a wine cellar. Drive along the stunning Atlantic coastline, passing Clifton, Camps Bay, and Hout Bay, and continue along Chapman’s Peak Drive through Scarborough to the Cape of Good Hope. Enjoy tea or coffee by the iconic signboard, then ride the Flying Dutchman Funicular for views from the old Cape Point lighthouse.
Lunch follows at Seaforth near Boulders, then we continue to the Constantia Valley Wine Route for a wine tasting at a selected estate. Conclude with a scenic return drive past the Botanical Gardens to Cape Town.
