Mago National Park - Begin the day early by driving through the mountains, experiencing some of Ethiopia’s most stunning landscapes, and entering the arid region of Mago National Park. Here, there is a chance to spot Dik Dik and the lesser Kudu. On the dry plains, visit a Mursi Village, where the community is famous for the decorative clay plates worn in the lower lips of women. These plates, introduced during adolescence, gradually increase in size, with some reaching the size of a bread and butter plate. This tradition is becoming less common, with many older women having loose skin without a plate. Drive to Konso.

Arba Minch

Chamo Lake - Start the day early, traveling from fertile lands across dry plains to reach Arba Minch, renowned for its Ensete (false) bananas. Arba Minch, meaning Forty Springs, is a lush valley known for fruit production. Drive into the Chencha mountains to visit a Dorze village, famous for their exquisite wool and cotton weaving (excellent for shopping). Their unique thatched homes are tall and shaped like beehives. Visit a home to observe weaving and a demonstration of the various uses of the “false” banana. After a picnic lunch, drive to Lake Chamo for a boat trip to spot enormous crocodiles and possibly hippopotamuses before heading back to the airport. Fly from Arba Minch to Addis.
