Addis Ababa

National Museum of Ethiopia - Arrive at Bole International Airport and transfer to the hotel. Spend the rest of the day exploring Addis Ababa, starting with the National Museum to see the 3.6 million-year-old remains of Lucy, discovered in 1974.

Holy Trinity Cathedral - Visit the Holy Trinity Cathedral and, if time allows, Mount Entoto, which rises to an altitude of 3,200 meters, offering panoramic views of the city and Mercato, the open market.

Bale Mountains - Dinsho Lodge

Dinsho - Embark on a full day’s drive to Bale Mountain National Park, traveling through the southeastern part of the capital, where the fertile land is cultivated by the Oromo people. Arrive at Dinsho (Park HQ) in the afternoon, in time to explore and see some endemic mammals: Menelik’s Bushbuck and Mountain Nyala, as well as birds like the Blue-winged Goose, Spot-breasted Lapwing, Abyssinian Longclaw, Wattled Ibis, Black-headed Siskin, Rouget’s Rail, and many other species.

Dinsho - Geysay Valley

Dinsho - Spend the entire day exploring Dinsho and Geysay Valley. Hike to see three endemic mammals: Menelik’s Bushbuck, Mountain Nyala, and the Ethiopian Wolf.

Wolla Valley (Kotera)

Bale Mountains - Accompanied by a guide, a scout, and packhorses, trek for 5 hours through lush highland vegetation to the first campsite. The air is clean and crisp, and the scenery is breathtaking.

Wassema Valley

Bale Mountains - After breakfast, continue the trek for approximately 7-8 hours. The trek offers the opportunity to see Ethiopia’s endemic Abyssinian Wolf.

Sanetti Plateau to Goba Town

Sanetti Plateau - Trek for 5 hours to the highest peak in the Bale Mountains, Tullu Deemtu (4,377m, 14,357ft), part of the Sanetti Plateau. The views are stunning and perfect for photography. Discover small alpine lakes and typical afro-alpine vegetation, including the Giant Lobelia and shrubs like ‘Everlasting’. Enjoy vistas of the unique pinnacles of Chorchora Peak and the sheer-sided Tegona River Gorge, with views of the steep-sided volcanic plug of Konteh Tullu and the long, rugged ridges of Mount Batu.

Goba - Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa - Return to Addis Ababa with stops at the Rift Valley Lakes. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner party at a traditional Ethiopian restaurant with dances from various ethnic groups. Then, transfer to the airport for the flight home.
