- Itegue Taitu Hotel | Piazza - Enjoy lunch at Addis Ababa’s oldest hotel. The Taitu Hotel, built in 1905 (1898 in the Ethiopian calendar) in the heart of the city (Piazza), was established by Taitu Betul (1851–1918), the Ethiopian Empress and wife of Emperor Menelik II, to offer foreign guests a place to rest and dine. - National Museum of Ethiopia - The museum is divided into three sections. The basement features a paleontological exhibition with many valuable local archaeological finds, including the famous fossilized remains of early hominids, notably “Lucy.” The collection is among the most significant in sub-Saharan Africa. The ground floor showcases artifacts from the Aksumite, pre-Aksumite, Solomonic, and Gonderian periods. The first floor presents a vibrant display of Ethiopian art, ranging from early 14th-century parchment to 20th-century canvas oil paintings.
- Ethnological Museum - The Ethnological Museum is a public institution focused on ethnology and culture. Located within Haile Selassie’s former palace and surrounded by the beautiful gardens and fountains of the university’s main campus, the museum houses anthropological, musicological, and cultural objects.
- Entoto Natural Park - Situated at an altitude of 3,400 meters, Entoto Natural Park was the site of Emperor Menelik II’s permanent camp and palace. From the summit, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the capital and the surrounding countryside. The mountain is densely covered with eucalyptus trees, imported from Australia during Menelik II’s reign and mostly planted during Emperor Haile Selassie’s era, earning it the nickname “lung of Addis Ababa.”
