A highly recommended getaway - Very happy to have taken advantage of the stopover for this getaway. I’ve seen and experienced a lot in the few hours I had, as well as learning a lot from their history. Atnatewos has been super nice and family friendly, adapting to everything I was interested in, and recommending all kinds of food, music, etc. All great!

A quick but fun layover in Addis Ababa - Had around 12 hour transit time at Addis Ababa and wanted to use the chance to see some of the city. Atnatewos was my guide and right away wanted to find out what I wanted to do or see. He drove me to the market (Merkato) , National Museum and to the mountain side to see the city from above. Atnatewos was full of stories of the country and even went to pharmacy for me as I was feeling slightly unwell. We ended the tour at a traditional Etiophian resturant with some amazing food and even live Etiophian music/dance. If anybody is on the fence I can defently recommend this tour!

Atnatewos is the best guide - We booked a tour of Addis with Habesh Wonder Tours and we're assigned Atnatewos as our guide. He greeted us outside our hotel and immediately made us feel welcome and at ease. He speaks perfect English and is extremely knowledgeable about the history of Addis and Ethiopia. We all learned so much about the many emperors and wars fought during the country's illustrious history. Atnatewos is clearly passionate about this city and a proud Ethiopian. He was showing us so many sights and spoke so passionately and positively about them. If you book a tour - ask for him! Highlights of the tour: - Coffee and the views in Entoto Park - Palace of Emperor Minilik - Driving through Mercato ("only love!") - Minilk II Museum - Honey Wine and traditional food - The traffic in Addis; Those roundabouts! 🙈😂

An Unforgettable Layover Adventure in Addis Ababa! - What an absolute gem of an experience! We had an overnight layover at Bole International Airport, and booking this layover tour was the best spontaneous decision ever. From the moment our friendly, English-speaking guide Smith met us at the hotel, we were whisked away in a comfortable vehicle to explore the heart of Addis Ababa. Even though our tour started at 4:30pm, we hit all the highlights: the National Museum of Ethiopia and Lucy, the stunning Holy Trinity Cathedral, the bustling Merkato market, Meskel Square, Mount Entoto, the original palace, the new Riverfront development, and so much more! Our guide shared fascinating stories about Ethiopia’s history, from ancient Aksum to modern Haile Selassie, making every stop feel personal and alive. The pacing was perfect, no rushing, plenty of photo ops, and we ended the evening at an awesome cultural restaurant with delicious Ethiopian food and live traditional music. Safe, informative, and pure magic. If you’re laying over in Addis, don’t miss this! Smith has become part of our family. I highly recommend to everyone! Ask for Smith!

Great way to learn Ethiopia - Atna picked us up from the hotel and gave us a full tour of Addis Ababa from the beautiful overlooking view from Entoto down to the huge open market adjacent to the countries largest Mosque. While the Museum was closed for the day, the history and culture information was still abundant. Very recommended way to spend 5 or more hours learning about Ethiopia.

Amazing layover tour of Addis Ababa - highly recommended! - After a really rough morning at the airport, this tour ended up being one of the best travel experiences I’ve had. My flight situation was chaotic and I had a long 14 hour layover, but the team (Mike, Joe and the office manager) were incredibly accommodating and flexible (especially when I had issues at the airport and was delayed getting out). They worked with my time and helped customize a tour so I could still see many of the highlights of Addis Ababa in 5 hours. From the moment Joe picked me up at the airport, everything was seamless. He drove me around the city, shared so much interesting history and context, and made sure I got to experience a real taste of Ethiopia. I never felt rushed, and they handled all the logistics so I could just enjoy the day. One of the most special touches was when Joe let me try on a traditional Ethiopian outfit, which made the experience even more memorable and fun. It was such a thoughtful gesture and something I would never have been able to organize on my own during a short layover. Despite starting the day stressed and tired, I left Addis Ababa feeling so grateful that I had the chance to explore the city with such kind and knowledgeable guides. Joe truly went above and beyond to make sure I had a great experience. If you have a layover in Addis Ababa or limited time in the city, I can’t recommend them enough. Their flexibility, hospitality, and attention to detail made all the difference.
