Addis Ababa - Upon arrival at Bole International Airport, guests will be transferred to their hotel. After a brief rest, the tour of Addis Ababa begins. Ethiopia boasts a wealth of natural features, attributed to its highland location, setting it apart in Africa. Additionally, it has a rich history spanning over 3000 years.

For 2000 years, until 1974, the country was an empire, with its emperors claiming descent from King Solomon. In the morning, visitors will tour a coffee processing and exporting facility.

During a brief tour of the premises, guests will learn about Ethiopia’s coffee specialties. Naturally, there will be an opportunity to enjoy a cup of some of the finest coffee in the city. Afterward, the exploration of the capital’s attractions continues.

The first stop is the National Museum, home to the oldest human remains known as ‘Lucy’. Nearby, the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity can be found. It is the largest Orthodox Church in Ethiopia and has withstood many historical eras.

Addis Ababa - In the morning, visit the lively fish market. Then, begin the return journey to the capital, Addis Ababa. A short lunch break is planned in the quaint town of Debre Zeit, known for its small crater lakes and as a popular day trip destination for Addis Ababa residents. By late afternoon, Addis Ababa is reached. There will be opportunities to visit markets for souvenirs, relax, or explore more of the city.

In the evening, guests are invited to a farewell dinner featuring traditional dances and music, marking the end of the trip.

Ethiopia is recognized as the birthplace of the coffee plant, Coffee Arabica, which continues to thrive naturally in the highland forests. Although the exact origins of coffee as a beverage remain uncertain, it is believed that its cultivation and consumption began as early as the 9th century. Some experts suggest that coffee was cultivated in Yemen even earlier, around AD 575. What is clear is that coffee originated in Ethiopia and made its way to Yemen approximately 600 years ago, from where it embarked on its global journey.
