Journey from Bahir Dar to Gondar
Gondar - The drive from Bahir Dar to Gondar takes approximately 4 hours. Upon arrival in Gondar, embark on a tour of this magnificent city, renowned for its medieval castles and unique church decorations, especially Debre Birhan Selassie. Don’t miss the stunning Fasildas Castle, a famous heritage site.
Commence Simien Mountain Trekking
Simien Mountains National Park - A chauffeur will collect you from your hotel and drive you from Gondar to Debark. Here, a permit will be secured from the Park headquarters, and the mandatory scout will be gathered before proceeding to Sankabar (3250m ASL). An early start is essential as the drive from Gondar takes 2-3 hours. The trek starts at Buytras, taking about 3-4 hours to reach the Sankabar campsite. During the walk, there’s a good chance of spotting Gelada baboons.
Simien Mountain to Gondar
Simien Mountains National Park - The second day of trekking begins early in the morning with a 2.5-hour trek to Jinbar Falls, which is 500 meters high. Along the way, enjoy the beautiful scenery, flowers, and trees. Leopards inhabit the area, though they are rarely seen; perhaps you’ll be fortunate enough to spot one! Of course, the charming Gelada baboons are always around. After lunch by the waterfall, a 4x4 will pick you up to return to Gondar.

Erta Ale - Drive for about 6 hours to the Dodom camping site early in the morning. After a short rest, trek up to Erta Ale and spend the night atop the mountain, at the volcano’s rim.
Explore Dallol
Danakil Depression - Drive early in the morning to Asebo, where locals mine salt. Then, proceed to Dallol to witness the colorful landscape shaped by volcanic activity. Return to Semera afterward.
Semera to Arbaminch & Visit
Dorze Village - Begin the day by visiting Dorze village, located high in the Gughe Mountains. The village is famous for its beehive-shaped huts.
Visit Konso & Drive to Turmi
Turmi - After breakfast, drive to Turmi, stopping to see the Konso village, a UNESCO World Heritage site in Ethiopia. Continue to the Bana village, home to indigenous pastoral and semi-nomadic people of the lower Omo Valley. The men often style their hair with colorful clay caps adorned with feathers. Proceed to Turmi, where the Hammer tribes reside.
Visit Omorate
Omorate - After breakfast, take an excursion to Omorate to visit the Dassanech people, who live on the northern shore of Lake Turkana. After the visit, return to Turmi for lunch, then drive to Jinka to meet the Ari people, the largest population in the lower Omo Valley.
Visit Mursi
Mursi Village - Take a day trip to Mago National Park to visit the Mursi village. The Mursi are one of Ethiopia’s exotic ethnic groups, living in low huts made of straw leaves. The women are known for wearing terra cotta on their extensively stretched lower lips and ear lobes.
City Tour of Addis Ababa
Mount Entoto - Enjoy a panoramic view of Addis Ababa from the mountain’s summit. Visit Menelik II’s historic palace.
