A vibrant experience - My trip to Addis Ababa was a fantastic experience, made even better by my guide, Biruk. His knowledge, friendliness, and ability to navigate the city’s bustling streets made the journey smooth and insightful. The highlight of the trip was definitely the Merkato market, one of the largest open-air markets in Africa. Another unforgettable moment was the traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony. Watching the process, from roasting the beans to the rich aroma filling the room, was one to remember. The coffee itself was incredible. Overall, Addis Ababa was a great mix of history, culture, and modern city life. With Biruk guiding the way, I got to experience it all in an authentic and meaningful way. Highly recommend!

Great & informative full day introduction to Addis Ababa - We booked the full day private city tour of Addis Ababa, there was great communication before the day via email/whatsapp. The day before we were sent a message with Biruk (our guide) telephone number so we could communicate on the day. Biruk arrived on time at our hotel reception and we started the tour, his knowledge and expertise was outstanding and he taught us a lot about Addis. During the tour we visited the Central Market, this market is very large and Biruk navigated us through the winding streets and we went in a local small tea shop which was a great experience. We also visited the Museum, St George’s Cathedral, Palace of Emperor Mellenek. We were given full explanations and the history of each venue visited as well as whilst driving through the city. The highlight of the tour was without a doubt the Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony & Lunch. We went to a local ladies house in the hills surrounding Addis, we were made to fell very welcome and one of the family. During the coffee preparations, we were served a lovely Ethiopian lunch with honey wine (non alcoholic) and a locally brewed liquor. The various stages of the coffee preparation was explained including washing, roasting, grounding the beans and then making the actual coffee. The coffee really was the best I’ve tasted. Thank you to Biruk & our driver Bekele for an amazing day out and insight in to Addis. Tips ….. You will need local birr as there are some places that require an entrance fee and the family hosting for lunch and coffee ceremony deserve a tip for their amazing hospitality

Addis Ababa - From booking to experience everything was super, flexible to 100. There is nothing to complain about 10/10. We will book this organizer several times. Considered that there are many who take over prices but not this organizer.

110% satisfactory tour with Biruk. - Biruk, the tour guide and Addis, the driver made the most hospitable team. I, as a female solo traveller felt totally safe and was looked after really well. Biruk is a good communicator and his knowledge of the history and culture is impressive. They went out of their way to make it a fun day for me. I requested to add the Holy Trinity church to the itinerary and they did that so happily. I definitely recommend.

Wonderful and accommodating experience - The trip was amazing! Biruk was a very knowledgeable tour guide who tries to accommodate your needs as best as possible. Knows many different things and very hospitable, chill and patient individual. Addis was a great driver and reliable. The food was great and unique experience, Mercado market was very interesting, the museum shows all different information about Ethiopia, and we were taken to Bilal museum upon our request, which was also interesting.

Amazing transit tour in Addis Ababa - I highly recommend Merit for transit tours of Addis Ababa. I just had one day in Ethiopia on a layover and their fantastic itinerary gave me an excellent overview of the country's history/culture and its capitol city. Communication both with Merit and my guide was prompt and smooth. We did everything on the stated itinerary and they were able to add in some requested customizations I ask for. As a sole female traveler, I felt very safe and comfortable throughout my tour. I would not hesitate to use them in the future when traveling to Ethiopia. All in all, a great way to do a lot if you have limited time.

Great day out in Addis Ababa - Had a fantastic day with Biruk the guide and Addis the driver. Really enjoyed the whole day but going to the local market was the highlight. All the activity was so wonderful to watch. The coffee ceremony wasn't what I was expecting and something everyone coming to Ethiopia should experience.

Awesome tour! You should definitely check this out! - Very nice tour, Deresse as a tour guide really passionate explaining anything about ethiopia. If you're really into cultural stuff this tour is the perfect tour, to get to know Ethiopia. Also the driver is very nice, they both are so patient & passionate, they gave us choices to choose, bcs i went there during ethiopian Christmas day so a lot of places closed, but we still had the good time! Overall i had a great time!
