The city enjoys a pleasant climate year-round, with an average temperature of 25°C. It is advisable to arrive a day before the trip begins, as the altitude of Addis Ababa, the third highest capital city globally, may cause fatigue. If time permits, explore this captivating city by visiting the National Museum, strolling along its wide, tree-lined avenues, or experiencing the vibrant “Mercato” (market). This colorful market offers a variety of intriguing goods and curios, perfect for exploration and people-watching. Throughout the city, shops sell traditional artisan crafts, materials, and antiques. Traditionally built on hilltops for protection from lowland tribes, Konso villages are encircled by high stone walls and feature separate compounds with terraced agricultural fields. The village’s unique architecture, largely unchanged cultural heritage, and social unity are fascinating, as is its adaptation to a harsh environment.
