Full day at Addo Elephant National park - Had a wonderful time exploring Addo Elephant National Park with my tour guide Ricarrdo from Carlin’s tours. Entering the park through Matyholweni entrance and getting all the way to the main gate to have some lunch at the Cattle Baron restaurant and back to the Matyholweni entrance. Inside the park I had an opportunity to see a lot of Elephants and other animals like the zebras, warthogs, Nyala, Buffalo, ostrich, tortoise etc. Though it was a pity not to have seen lions, the whole experience was really nice and I plan to definitely go back there again with my family.

Good sight of wild elephant herd. - No leopard in sight as its nor in park. Only saw lion barely, and buffalo. tour guide was v nice and gave good talks about the park.

Awesome Experience especially for Our Daughter - It was great experience. We were picked up on time and the guide was knowledgeable. Our daughter spotted 15 animals and it was awesome. We all learnt a thing or 2 from our guide.

Poor value for money in the pure elephant park - NO Big Five !! - Overall disappointing and price-performance ratio not OK. Departure at the port has been delayed by almost an hour because guests were still being "fished" to fill the minibus. Windows only partially open, contrary to the announcement no open 4x4 vehicles. Despite indication that we can "put the lost time at the back" the return trip was scheduled on time. At lunch (which we would have liked to have done without) again long wait which was missing for the safari. With the animals, the fact is that due to the nature of the park there are NO giraffes and also NO lions. A single water buffalo and no rhinos. It is a pure elephant park in the day. So definitely not a safari mood. It would easily have been possible to book an open 4 x 4 safari at short notice at the port with other providers for less money. Our intervention and criticism was only addressed by the guide on appearances. The Company did not respond to our complaint.

Unsuitable transport provided. - Wonderful views of elephants, but let down very badly by the vehicle provided. 4 tourists in a family sized car, with extra seating at rear, totally unsuitable for safari, as no-one wanted to sit in the rear, with no opening windows, very frustrating not being able to photograph the animals, which caused friction between the tourists. I would not have gone had I known we were going in a family sized car. Because of the atmosphere caused by the unhappy co-passengers, we were not able to enjoy this day which we had been looking forward to for so long, very disappointed.

Disappointed - When I booked this, the pictures and description did not explain that we would be in an actual bus where on some seats windows didn’t even open. I understand that now in the mean time, they have changed this description. The second thing that was not communicated to us was that we were going to join an intact group from a cruise ship. This made the whole day somewhat awkward for us. Lastly, there was a big delay which unfortunately was also not communicated properly. We spend almost 2 hours waiting at the gate before we even started. On top of that, the lunch break also lasted 2 hours (not sure why - but some from the cruise ship group ordered new drinks long after the agreed continuation...) I would not book this tour again.

Unfortunately only in a small coach... - Unfortunately, we were traveling in a minibus the whole time. The windows were only open in very few places. Most of them were behind black-tinted windows. This makes it very difficult to observe and photograph. On the photos were shown open off-road vehicles, which offered the expectation that we would use them. The vehicle type was not described in detail in the booking. Very unfortunate because it does not guarantee an up-close experience to the animals.
