Learn about the species’ survival challenges and the conservation efforts aiding their protection.
Flinders Chase National Park - Next, visit an island icon. Head west to Flinders Chase National Park, a wild wonderland of rugged cliffs, native bush, and breathtaking rock formations. Walk the boardwalk at Admirals Arch, watching for New Zealand fur seals lounging below. Then, be amazed by the legendary Remarkable Rocks—500 million years in the making and incredibly photogenic.

Day 3: Kangaroo Island to Adelaide
Cape Willoughby Lighthouse - Start the final day with a refreshing morning bush walk near camp before packing up and hitting the road. The first stop is Cape Willoughby, home to South Australia’s first lighthouse. Perched above dramatic cliffs, it offers sweeping views and stories from Kangaroo Island’s rich maritime history.
Kangaroo Island - Next, visit Pennington Bay, where powerful swells crash against the southern coastline. From here, climb the 500 steps to Prospect Hill, one of the island’s highest vantage points. The panoramic views are well worth the effort.
Kangaroo Island - Afterwards, at Kingscote Jetty, there’s time for a refreshing swim if desired before heading inland to Duck Lagoon. A peaceful spot surrounded by bushland, known for its relaxed atmosphere and koala sightings.
Stokes Bay - By lunchtime, arrive at Stokes Bay, a local favorite with a hidden rock tunnel leading to a stunning beach. Enjoy a picnic lunch and take some time to relax on the sand.
Emu Bay - Before concluding, make a final stop at Emu Bay, voted Australia’s best beach! With its long stretch of white sand and clear blue water, it’s the perfect spot for a stroll, a quick dip, and a meaningful beach clean-up to help preserve this pristine coastline.
Kangaroo Island - After an unforgettable few days, return to Penneshaw to catch the 5:30 pm ferry to Cape Jervis. From there, the bus connection will have you back in Adelaide by around 9:00 pm. A little salty, very inspired, and glowing from three days of island adventure.
