Taroudant - The private desert tour from Agadir to Merzouga begins at 8 am from your accommodation, whether a Riad or Hotel in Agadir. The first stop is Taroudant, often referred to as the “small red city of Marrakech.” Here, visitors can explore the old medina, the impressive ramparts, and the bustling local market.
Taliouine - Traveling eastward, the journey passes through Taliouine, renowned for its saffron fields.
Tazenakht - In Taznakht, there is an opportunity to learn about the craftsmanship of Berber rugs.
Ait Ben Haddou - The journey continues to the village of Ait Benhaddou, where lunch is served, followed by a visit to the UNESCO-listed Mud-brick Castle.
Ouarzazate - The tour proceeds to Ouarzazate, known as the “Moroccan Hollywood” due to the numerous films shot there, such as “Gladiator,” “Kingdom of Heaven,” and scenes from the popular TV series “Game of Thrones.” An optional visit to the Cinema Studios is available. Overnight accommodation is provided in a guesthouse on a half-board basis.
Ouarzazate – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Erg Chebbi Dunes (Merzouga)
Vallee Des Roses - After breakfast, the journey continues towards the Merzouga Desert through Rose Valley and the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs.
Todra River - The route leads to Todra Gorges via Tinghir, a valley with contrasting rocky canyons and towering palm trees, perfect for photo stops. The famous Todra Mountain Gorge, with an altitude of 400m (1312ft), offers a chance for a walk. Lunch follows.
Erg Chebbi - The tour then heads towards the Sand Dunes of Erg Chebbi, passing through The Jorf and its ancient irrigation system with 1000 wells, reaching Erfoud before encountering the first sand. Erg Chebbi boasts the highest sand dunes in the country. Here, vehicles are exchanged for camels, allowing for a one-hour camel trek on the sand dunes during sunset, an ideal time for photography as the sand turns red against the beautiful sky. Upon arrival at the desert camp, guests check into their private tents and enjoy a special evening with dinner, a campfire, drum players, and Berber music.
Erg Chebbi – Merzouga – Nekob – Agdz – Agadir
Merzouga Desert - An early rise allows for witnessing the sunrise from the top of the dunes, followed by breakfast.
Agdz - The return journey to Agadir takes a different route, offering a scenic drive along the Saghrou mountains, with volcanic rock formations contrasting with the lush oasis of the Draa Valley. Lunch is enjoyed in Agdz.
Agadir - The journey continues through the Atlas Mountains, with stops for photo opportunities, arriving in Agadir around 6:30 pm. The 3-day tour from Agadir to the Merzouga Desert concludes at the Riad/Hotel in Agadir.
