Good excursion when in Agadir - In the morning we visited Tiout. It's a small oasis-village in the middle of the desert. On top of the mountain, there's an ancient Kasbah. We had some tea there and took a donkey ride towards the gardens of the oasis, which was very funny. After the donkey ride we got a good meal and got to Taroudant. Taroudant is a bigger provincial city which has beautiful old ramparts. We took a local guide towards the city center and we experienced some beautiful sites. Only minus: the local guide took us to a commercial place to sell stuff, which we didn't like.

Good day out - 1 hour or so drive to Tiout where we met a local guide who ushered us to pay a little extra to ride donkeys for 20 mins to walk down to Oasis. Oasis was quite nice, then walk back to Tiout fortress, which unfortunately you cannot explore [apparently as it is too dangerous/falling apart] so you are instead put in a restaurant that has been added on the side of the fort. Very nice lunch/tagine, drinks and fruit, then the local guide was quite aggressive in asking for a tip. I said that we have paid quite a lot for the trip already,,, but he still asked me about 5 times. Then we continued to the town of Taroudant where we saw tree climbing goats on the way, and upon arrival at Taroudant we walked around a couple of real souks/markets which was quite nice as they wasn't really the tourist ones. Then we headed back to resort. All in all quite a decent day out. Car driver/guide was very nice,,,, however guide at Tiout was aggressive

Day away from the tourist - The combination of Touradant and Tiout is definitely worth it. We had arrived in the morning after 2 hours driving from Agadir in the Tiout. In the middle of the wasteland where only the argan trees can grow you will find an oasis with water, date palms, olive trees, carob trees and banana trees. Nice walk through it under supervision. Then a Moroccan lunch (very tasty taste) with a nice view over the valley. Then to Tourandant, also called little Marrakech. Not a large square but a medina with small medieval-looking streets where medieval skies alternate with delicious herbs. Very friendly people and absolutely not intrusive. However, there is a clear difference between the more conservative Arab part and the more friendly Berber part of the souk.
