• Taj Mahal - The Taj Mahal is an exquisite ivory-white marble mausoleum located on the right bank of the Yamuna River in Agra, India. Commissioned in 1632 by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, it was constructed to house the tomb of his cherished wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The monument also serves as the final resting place for Shah Jahan himself.
• Agra Fort - Spanning an impressive 94 acres, this vast red sandstone fort runs parallel to the Yamuna River and is situated 2 kilometers northwest of the Taj Mahal. Initially occupied by the Sikarwar Rajputs, the Agra Fort (Red Fort) was later seized by the Lodi rulers of Delhi. In 1526, following the defeat of the Lodis in the Battle of Panipat, the victorious Emperor Babur took control of the fort. After a brief loss to the Suri rulers, it was eventually reclaimed by Akbar, who established Agra as his capital.
