Chachabamba - Cusco - KM104 - Aguas Calientes
The tour commences with a hotel pick-up at 4:00 pm, followed by a drive to Ollantaytambo to board the train to kilometer 104.

Upon arrival, the group will present their “INCA TRAIL ENTRANCE”. The journey begins with a walk across the bridge over the Urubamba River, also known as Willkamayuc, which means Sacred River in Quechua. The archaeological sites of Chachabamba and Choquesuysuy are just 15 minutes from the checkpoint. After a 3-hour trek, the group will reach Wiñaywayna (2,650 m / 8,694 ft), named after a beautiful orchid in the area, meaning “Eternally young” in Spanish. This site features over 20 structures, including the Temple of the Rainbow, also known as the Temple of Fertility, with an average visit time of 1 hour.

Winay Wayna - After exploring Wiñaywayna, the group will continue for 2 hours along Andean trails, stone steps, and tambos (“resting places”) to reach Inti Punku - Puerta del Sol (2,720 m / 8,923 ft). During the Inca era, this served as the entrance control to the Citadel of Machu Picchu. From here, there is a breathtaking panoramic view of Machu Picchu and the surrounding valley. The group will then descend for approximately 30 minutes to the world wonder, Machu Picchu (2,490 m / 8,169 ft).

DAY 2: MACHU PICCHU

Machu Picchu - After exploring Wiñaywayna, the group will continue for 2 hours along Andean trails, stone steps, and tambos (“resting places”) to reach Inti Punku - Puerta del Sol (2,720 m / 8,923 ft). During the Inca era, this served as the entrance control to the Citadel of Machu Picchu. From here, there is a breathtaking panoramic view of Machu Picchu and the surrounding valley. The group will then descend for approximately 30 minutes to the world wonder, Machu Picchu (2,490 m / 8,169 ft).

The Inca Trail tour, spanning 2 days and 1 night, begins at kilometer 104. This 15-kilometer trek to Machu Picchu offers stunning views of high Andean landscapes and the jungle brow. Along the way, you’ll visit Inca sites such as Chachabamba, Choquesuysuy, and the Wiñaywayna complex, whose Quechua name means ‘Forever Young.’ The journey culminates at Machu Picchu, entering through the Sun Gate to witness the Lost City of the Incas for the first time.

To embark on this tour, a ‘Short Inca Trail Entry’ ticket is required. If no tickets are available for Machu Picchu, you will receive a full refund for your tour package.
