At Baekusaeng Makgeolli, the mission extends beyond a simple one-day experience. The aim is not just to conduct classes but to cultivate makgeolli brewers globally.
This engaging, enjoyable, and highly educational class is crafted to provide participants with authentic brewing expertise that can be applied long after departing from Korea.
In this class, participants will:
• Sample carefully chosen makgeolli, gaining insights into how aroma, sweetness, acidity, and texture harmonize.
• Learn about the key ingredients and equipment used in both traditional and contemporary makgeolli brewing.
• Explore the fermentation process, from yeast and nuruk activity to filtering and conditioning methods.
• Take home their own makgeolli to ferment (approximately 1.2 liters), allowing them to continue the process independently like a true brewer.
By the conclusion of the class, participants will not only possess a bottle but also the skills to continue brewing, experimenting, and enhancing their connection with makgeolli, no matter where they are in the world.
