A must do experience - Tour was an amazing experience. And educational. Can’t say enough about Sixto who was our guides. It was great to see that all wildlife are treated with great care and respect. Very friendly staff all around.

Amazing experience! - We had pre booked our tickets online for the sanctuary and snorkeling! Easy booking process through their website. When we arrived, we were advised that snorkeling would be canceled as there was a storm coming in and the ocean was too rough to snorkel in. I was super disappointed as I was highly looking forward to that - but I appreciate the staff being thorough and putting customer safety first! They told us to email and they would process a partial refund for the snorkeling - they did and it was processed and refunded within 3 days! Our guide was very informative and highly engaging! He made sure to take time explaining everything and made sure to answer any questions anyone had. You’re allowed to take your own photos in every part of the sanctuary, minus when you go into the separate enclosure to have time with one of their monkey’s - this is solely for safety purposes for the animal! They do have a professional photographer that accompanies the group through the tour and you have the opportunity to purchase those photos at the end. For the two of us, it cost $50 USD ($72ish CAD) and we ended up with over 50 pictures of incredible memories. We had a phenomenal time and would highly recommend a visit to the sanctuary! Make sure you bring your water and sunscreen!!!

Monkeys on your head! - Overall this is a good activity. Depending on where you are from the enclosures may not seem great in comparison to higher level zoos or sanctuaries, but the animals did seem well cared for and the staff seemed knowledgeable and caring. Many animals there were rescued from bad situations. There are veterinarians, zoologists, and primatologists there according to the information. The interaction with the monkey is a single monkey that will jump on each person's head and then go on each person's lap. That is really cool! This is the one area you cannot take your camera or phone into so if you want pix you'll have to buy them at the end. $20 for 1 photo, $50 for all, plus some options for videos at additional price. One other thing to note- the viator description specifies a $15 charge for transportation from certain further areas, but then for the hotels existing in the drop down menu there was no charge listed, which I feel implies is included. But when we were emailed by the tour operator, after we already paid for the tour, we were told $10 per person transfer charge. This feels dishonest since it wasn't mentioned in the description and our hotel was 9 minutes from the sanctuary, so it certainly wasn't $20 in gas. I would recommend this tour but the company really should be up front about that fee for nearby hotels.

It was okay. - Our tour guide through the park was wonderful. The park, itself needs updated and there were 6 different types of animals.

Disappointing! - Monkeys were all in cages. Our guide was informative, but the videos make it look like you would have more up close encounters with monkeys. We did go into a separate area with a monkey named Sara and a photographer took pictures of everyone with the monkey. (No personal phones or cameras allowed, it was expensive to buy the digital photos) Photos with birds and/or snake were available too. We saw zebras on the drive in, but tour guide never brough us near them. We also paid for the cenote, which was definitely not worth it! It was very dark, rocky and slippery and very cold! We took a few pics and left. We paid their transportation to pick us up at the hotel. The van was packed, we were crammed into the front seat with the driver.

The only good thing about the sanctuary was seeing the little animals - It was the first time going and we were very excited and we wanted the day to come. It wasn't what we had imagined. The photos were of very poor quality.

That is not a Sanctuary,... - That is not a Sanctuary, Its only a very poor zoo with a few apes in a cage. The only interest for the team to make expensive pictures. For this intrance fee a shame!!!
