Cenote Mayan Adventures - Great trip exploring the cenotes. From booking to transport to lunch service to our amazing guide Victor, everyone one was friendly and helpful. Victor was funny and very knowledgeable. He was extremely patient and supportive with me as I struggled a bit at the beginning of the snorkel experience. My husband would have stayed in the cave all day if he could have. I wish we would have brought cash with us to the cave to tip the lunch staff as we went straight from the cave and it was a bit of a walk back to the lockers. They also had gluten free options which was amazing for those of us with celiac. They had lockers available at both cenotes to secure your belongings. Bring a waterproof camera if you have one. If you don’t they do have staff onsite who will take photographs for a price. We would definitely go again!

Great Choice for Minimal Walking Restrictions - My dad and I were hesitant to sign up for an excursion because he has trouble walking long distances and I’m 31 weeks pregnant. However, we thought it would be a shame to come all this way and not see the Cenotes. The Cancun Snorkeling Tour, including snorkeling in an open cenote, cave/closed cenote, and lagoon with lots of fish was absolutely perfect for our mobility restrictions!! There were only 5-9 stair steps to get down and out of the cenotes and my dad didn’t have any issues!! Furthermore our tour guide, Dimi, was so caring and helpful to us both the whole time. He found my dad prescription goggles which greatly improved his snorkeling experience, and he pulled the van up right close to the cenote so my dad didn’t have to walk as far. Dimi was clear about instructions and setting our expectations so we all knew what was going on. The only downside to a tour like this is that you’re limited in time at each location since you’re moving around to different spots in a group (ours had 8 people but I think it can range). I would estimate about 30-40 minutes in the water at each place. This is a perfect tour for people with mobility restrictions who wouldn’t be able to hike a long way to many different cenotes. For the more adventurous trackers, they did have zip lining and cliff jumping at the open cenote!

Beautiful, educational and all around great experience! - The trip to the cenote was amazing. Our tour guide, Harim, was extremely knowledgeable about everything. The history and formation of the cenotes, the way the mayans used them and what they meant spiritually to the mayans. Couldn't have asked for a better experience!

Beauty Overshadowed by Exploitation and Neglect - The scenery itself is stunning, but unfortunately the way this tour is run completely ruins the experience. You’re rushed from one stop to the next with barely 20-30 minutes at each location, leaving no real time to appreciate the views. It feels more like a conveyor belt for money than an experience for guests. What disturbed me most was the animal welfare. In the gift shop, a dog was clearly dehydrated, overheated, and in distress. Not one staff member intervened — they laughed while tourists had to step in to give the poor animal water and snacks. It was shocking to witness, and says a lot about the lack of care behind the scenes. And despite what’s advertised, don’t expect to see fish while swimming. Most of the fish in these cenotes are nocturnal, and with the constant presence of humans throughout the day, they stay hidden. For the same price, you’d have a far better experience snorkeling in Cozumel, where the marine life is active and the waters are alive with fish. Prices are also eye-watering. $3 for a tiny pack of Oreos, $20 charged for GoPro footage that never arrived, and food that I wouldn’t trust — especially the chicken, considering the disregard shown for animal welfare. To top it off, guests are pressured to sign a waiver without proper time to read it, essentially waiving all rights even in the event of serious injury or death. For anyone used to first-world standards of safety and accountability, this is deeply concerning. Credit where it’s due: our tour guide did his job well and the views themselves are beautiful. But the operation as a whole? Soulless, money-driven, overpriced, and negligent. If you care about animals, safety, or simply getting value for money, I would recommend looking elsewhere.
