The tour begins from the beach. It’s important to note that Akumal Bay is shallow, so initially, the grassland area will be reached where sea turtles, primarily white or green species, can be found. Occasionally, Carey turtles may also be seen. The tour includes a visit to part of the Akumal coral barrier, where a variety of tropical fish, and sometimes rays or barracudas, can be observed.
