• Sail / by Jón Gunnar Árnason - A beautiful sculpture on the Akureyri Oceanfront. Perfect location for a nice photo of our picturesque fjord. Your guide will tell you how we rely on the ocean for survival up here by the arctic circle
• Samkomuhúsið - The local Theatre, built by the community in 1906 as a community house. A great viewpoint and the perfect place to learn about the rich cultural history of our town. The town has the only professional theatre house outside Reykjavik.
• Hafnarstraeti - Local restaurant were we taste the highlights of the local cuisine. Fish, lamb, locally brewed beer and potatoes are the cornerstone of the Iceland diet. Preserved by salting or fermentation to last the harsh winter.
• Kaupvangsstræti - We end the tour by “The Art Canyon”, a canyon located in the city center, with galleries and workshops. The area used to be the industrial hub of the area from the start of the 19th Century.
