- The Old Farmhouse Laufas - Laufás is a charming and historic heritage site featuring a large farmhouse and a lovely 19th-century church. It has been home to priests from at least 1047 until 1935, with the current priest still residing there. The house boasts long corridors and numerous interconnected rooms. The existing structures date back to the mid-19th century and are furnished with period household items and clothing. A unique feature of Laufás is the Bridal room, where brides prepared for their weddings. The current church was constructed in 1865 and includes a notable pulpit from 1698. Laufás Visitor Centre offers a welcoming atmosphere and provides additional information about the local nature, wildlife, and history. There is also a shop selling local crafts and souvenirs, along with refreshments. The old turf house is part of the National Museum’s Historic Buildings Collection.
- Christmas Garden - Open year-round, this enchanting house and garden appear as if they are straight out of a fairy tale. The garden is filled with hidden treasures to discover and enjoy. Inside the Christmas House, visitors are welcomed by the warmth of a log fire, festive songs, and seasonal scents, even in summer. Try to find the Icelandic Yule lad’s troll mother (Gryla) hidden in her cave. The Christmas House is a magical destination throughout the year, with every corner brimming with Christmas charm. Adjacent to the Christmas House is a delightful shop where visitors can taste local jams or purchase a souvenir. It’s a wonderful way to learn about and experience local Christmas traditions.
- Akureyri - At the end of the day, enjoy a brief guided tour around the town of Akureyri. Highlights include the old town, Botanical Gardens, Church of Akureyri, and the town center. Inform the driver if you wish to disembark at any of these locations.

Our guides are fully qualified and have extensive knowledge of the area. Not only will you learn about the history, landscape and present day life on this tour you will also hear Icelandic folktales. This is a round trip through some of the most picturesque landscape in North Iceland. The total tour length is 4 hours. All travel time is included in that length. We first drive for approximently 35 min to Goðafoss, then another 30 min to Laufas Turfhouse Museum. From Laufas there is then another 30 min drive to the beautiful Christmas House & Gardens. After visiting the Christmas house we drive a short sightseeing around the town of Akureyri before dropping the passenger off. This is a fully guided, informative and enjoyable tour, all entrance fee is included in the tour price.
