Amazing husky experience - Fantastic winter activity. Husky sledging is one of the best things to do in winter and when combined with a warm hospitality it is a day we will never forget. After a trip through the woods on sledges we had plenty opportunity to spend time petting the dogs . Gunni and Maria are wonderful hosts and if we ever come to Akureyri again we would love to repeat this trip.

Husky sledding in Akureyri - What’s better than a day out with mans best friend?? I’ll tell you… A day out with 20+ best friends plus a couple of genuinely lovely humans. I follow goHusky on Instagram & familiar with their posts but I was blown away by what an absolutely stunning location they’re in. Right on Eyjafjörður fjord. It was snowing too which just added to the dramatic landscape. On arriving we were warmly welcomed by Gunni & Maria. The husky’s were chilled waiting & watching, inquisitive at who their latest visitors were. When we got to meet them they were exactly what you want from a husky! Friendly, curious, desperate to be your bestest friend & see who you are. To be surrounded by huskies is the best feeling! The dynamics in the pack is so great to witness & I loved seeing the older dogs put the youngsters in their place. They were very well behaved. Unfortunately there was not enough snow to sled so the carts were used instead. Honestly this did not make the experience any less enjoyable & we had so much fun. One of the dogs wasn’t running very well so Gunni didn’t hesitate to take her off & she got to sit with us. We were so impressed at how well these dogs are looked after & their wellbeing is Gunni & Maria’s priority. Afterwards we were welcomed into their home for hot chocolate & to learn more about the dogs & spend some extra time with them. Gunni & Maria are such lovely hardworking people & they put so much into their work & the dogs, I felt like we’d made new friends. This was one of the best experiences that we have had & a very memorable day. I think I smiled from the minute we arrived until the minute we left! It was husky heaven. I’m so glad my husband booked this. The guy done good.

Fantastic experience – highly recommend Go Husky! - We booked the private dog sledding experience for six people with Go Husky in Akureyri. Unfortunately there was no snow at the time, but a few days before our booking Gunni contacted us to explain the situation and gave us the option to cancel or go ahead with carting using wheeled carts instead. We’re so glad we chose to go ahead — the carting experience was absolutely amazing and great fun. The huskies are the most beautiful, friendly dogs you could ever meet, and it’s clear how well looked after and loved they are. They are truly part of the family. Gunni and Maria are wonderful hosts — warm, welcoming, and incredibly friendly. They made us feel at home straight away, and by the end of the experience it felt like we’d known them forever. We all came away saying what a fantastic time we had. Highly recommend Go Husky and would definitely do it again!
