The journey will take us through the Al-Ahsa desert, beginning with a breathtaking view of a lake situated just a few kilometers east of Al-Hofuf, showcasing the extensive water resources of Al-Ahsa. This particular lake is known as the Yellow Lake, named for the hue of the surrounding dunes. Lunch will be enjoyed along the way. The landscape, characterized by flat, water-rich grounds interspersed with dunes, is typical of the Eastern Province and is referred to as sabkha. These formations are especially remarkable 500 kilometers to the south in the world’s largest sand dune desert, the Rub’ Al-Khali. Following our visit to the Yellow Lake, we will embark on a unique drive through these dunes and sabkhas. In the afternoon, we will return to Hofuf, concluding our trip.
