The Giza Pyramid Complex, also known as the Giza Necropolis, is located on the Giza Plateau in Greater Cairo, Egypt. This site includes the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure, along with their associated pyramid complexes and the Great Sphinx of Giza. These structures were constructed during the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom of Ancient Egypt. The area also features several cemeteries and the remnants of a workers’ village.
The site is situated at the edge of the Western Desert, approximately 9 kilometers (5.6 mi) west of the Nile River in Giza, and about 13 kilometers (8 mi) southwest of Cairo’s city center.
- Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - Khufu’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, currently buried beneath the village of Nazlet el-Samman. Although diabase paving and nummulitic limestone walls have been discovered, the site remains unexcavated.
- Khafre’s Pyramid - Khafre’s pyramid complex features a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple revealed several statues of Khafre, some of which were discovered in a well on the temple floor by Mariette in 1860.

Dahshur is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is located on the Western Desert plateau at the edge of the cultivated plain. Along with the pyramid complexes at Saqqara, Abusir, and Giza to its north, it forms the pyramid fields of the ancient capital city of Memphis. Dahshur is primarily known for several pyramids, notably Senefru’s Bent Pyramid and the Red Pyramid, which are among the oldest, largest, and best-preserved in Egypt, constructed from 2613 to 2589 BC.
- Memphis and Sakkara - Memphis was the ancient capital of Inebu-hedj, the first nome of Lower Egypt, known as mḥw (“north”). Its ruins are located near the modern town of Mit Rahina, 20 km (12 mi) south of Giza in Greater Cairo, Egypt. The tour concludes with a drop-off at the customer’s hotel in Cairo or Giza.
