- Giza Plateau - Begin at 8:00 am with a pickup from your hotel in Cairo/Giza by a guide to embark on a full-day tour of the Giza Pyramids. Visit the Great Pyramids - Cheops, Chephren & Mykerinos, followed by the Valley Temple where King Chephren’s body was mummified. Here, you will also see The Sphinx, the legendary guardian with a lion’s body and the head of King Chephren, standing by the grand funeral complex. The Giza Pyramids and the Great Sphinx are among the world’s most renowned tourist attractions, having been so even during Roman times. These magnificent structures served as the final resting places for kings of the 4th Dynasty (c.2613–2494 BC). The Great Pyramid of Giza was constructed for King Khufu (c.2589–2566 BC), with the other two built for his son Khafre and grandson Menkaure. Khufu’s pyramid is the oldest and largest of the trio, and it remained the tallest structure for 3,800 years!
- Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - The only fully preserved portrait of the king is a three-inch high ivory figurine discovered in a temple ruin at Abydos in 1903. Other reliefs and statues were found in fragments, and many of Khufu’s buildings are lost. Information about Khufu comes from inscriptions in his necropolis at Giza and later documents, such as the Westcar Papyrus from the 13th dynasty.
- Khafre’s Pyramid - Khafre’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple revealed several statues of Khafre, discovered in a well in the temple floor by Mariette in 1860, with more found during subsequent excavations by Sieglin (1909–10), Junker, and Reisner.
- Menkaure Pyramid - Menkaure’s pyramid complex features a valley temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple once housed several statues of Menkaure. During the 5th Dynasty, a smaller ante-temple was added to the valley temple. The mortuary temple also contained several statues of Menkaure.
- Great Sphinx - The Sphinx, the legendary guardian with a lion’s body and the head of King Chephren, stands by the grand funeral complex.
- Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids - Visit Sakkara, located just 27 km southwest of Cairo. Explore the Step Pyramid (built for King Zoser), an essential part of the pyramid evolution process, transitioning from a simple mastaba to its well-known form.
- Pyramid of Teti - The Pyramid of Teti, situated in Saqqara, Egypt, is a fascinating ancient structure built as the final resting place for Pharaoh Teti. It stands as a testament to the Old Kingdom’s ingenuity and architectural skill, attracting visitors worldwide with its impressive size and historical significance. Discover the chambers and corridors of this pyramid to uncover ancient Egypt’s mysteries and immerse yourself in the rich history of this iconic landmark.
- Pyramid of Unas - Enhance your home decor with a magnificent Pyramid of Unas replica. This exquisite piece features intricate detailing and a striking design, adding a touch of ancient Egyptian elegance to any room. Crafted with quality materials, this pyramid is a perfect addition to any collector’s display or history enthusiast’s collection. - Mastaba of Ti - The Mastaba of Ti is one of Saqqara’s most significant archaeological sites, discovered by Auguste Mariette. The mastaba contains two serdabs, and the tomb walls depict various scenes of everyday life.
- Memphis and Sakkara - Visit Memphis City, the ancient capital of Egypt, where the colossal statue of Ramses II and the great Alabaster Sphinx are located. This city dates back to 3100 B.C. (1-hour visit).
- Dahshur lake - Visit the Dahshur Pyramids (Bent and Red Pyramids). The Dahshur area is a royal necropolis in the desert on the West Bank of the Nile, approximately 40 kilometers (25 mi) south of Cairo. It is renowned for several pyramids, two of which are among the oldest, largest, and best-preserved in Egypt, built from 2613–2589 BCE.
