- Jebel Shams - The journey begins with a drive to Jebel Shams, often referred to as the Grand Canyon of Oman, which takes approximately 4 hours. This mountain is situated in northeastern Oman, north of the town of Al Hamra. It is called Jebel Shams because it is the first location in Oman to witness the sunrise, thanks to its towering peak. It stands as the highest mountain in both the Hajar range and the entire country.
- Jebel Shams - Following the drive, the adventure continues with the “Balcony Walk,” a trek lasting about 4-5 hours. This trail offers stunning views over Wadi Nakhar, known as Oman’s Grand Canyon, and concludes at the renowned abandoned village of San Bani Khamis.
- Al Hamra Old Town - After completing the balcony walk, the journey proceeds to Al Hamra. This 400-year-old town is located in the Ad Dakhiliyah region of northeastern Oman. While the town is vibrant and bustling, it harbors a hidden gem: an incredible abandoned village. The ruins of Al Hamra are believed to be between 700 and 1,000 years old and remain completely untouched. The day concludes with a drive back to Muscat.
