- Pyramids of Giza - Upon arrival at Cairo airport, a guide will be waiting with a sign displaying your name outside the passenger area. You will then be transported to Giza City in a private air-conditioned vehicle to begin your tour of the Giza Pyramids. Here, you will visit the Great Pyramids - Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos. Cheops is the largest pyramid ever constructed. Following this, you will have a close-up view of The Sphinx, a grand funerary complex guarded by the legendary lion-bodied figure with the face of King Chephren. Additionally, you will visit the Valley Temple, where King Chephren’s body was mummified.
- Great Sphinx - The Sphinx, the legendary guardian, stands beside the vast funerary complex with its lion body and the head of King Chephren.
- Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - The only completely preserved portrait of the king is a three-inch high ivory figurine discovered in a temple ruin from a later period at Abydos in 1903. All other reliefs and statues were found in fragments, and many of Khufu’s buildings are lost. Information about Khufu comes from inscriptions in his necropolis at Giza and later documents. For instance, Khufu is the main character in the Westcar Papyrus from the 13th dynasty.
- Khafre’s Pyramid - Khafre’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple contained several statues of Khafre, some of which were discovered in a well in the temple floor by Mariette in 1860. Others were found during subsequent excavations by Sieglin (1909–10), Junker, and Reisner.
- Menkaure Pyramid - Menkaure’s pyramid complex comprises a valley temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple once housed several statues of Menkaure. During the 5th Dynasty, a smaller ante-temple was added to the valley temple. The mortuary temple also revealed several statues of Menkaure.
- Gizeh Plateau - The Giza Plateau is a limestone plateau in Giza, Egypt, home to the Fourth Dynasty Giza pyramid complex, which includes the pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, the Great Sphinx, several cemeteries, a workers’ village, and an industrial complex. It is the northernmost part of the 16,000 ha Pyramid Fields on the Western Desert edge of the Nile Valley, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Memphis, and its Necropolis. The plateau is approximately 60 meters above sea level.
