First Ever Guest—And Blown Away! - I had the absolute pleasure of being the very first guest on this new food tasting experience in Ketchikan, and wow—they knocked it out of the park. The entire tasting was held at a super cool bar right on the water, packed with memorabilia honoring Alaska’s bush pilot history. The setting alone was worth the visit, but the food? The beer? Even better. I tried native fry bread, smoked salmon, halibut ceviche, venison sausage, jumbo shrimp cocktail, salmon dip, and the best clam chowder of my life. Seriously—best ever. No crab on the menu that day, but with so many other incredible flavors, I didn’t miss it. As someone who loves getting to know a place through its food and seeks out these kinds of tours as a primary form of entertainment when I go somewhere with rich food culture. this was a perfect intro to Alaskan eats. Jess was warm, knowledgeable, passionate, and clearly proud of what they’re building. If you’re heading to Ketchikan, do yourself a favor and check this out.
