Choose Jack Lee for your guide at Denali Photo Excursion! - Our photo excursion, booked through Holland America, was a lot of fun and we were able to capture some beautiful landscape shots. Our guide, Jack Lee, was very professional and knowledgeable about the Denali area. He knew right where to go for excellent photo opportunities and told some great stories along the way. He shared some very helpful framing and exposure triangle tips that I will continue to use and try to perfect.
If you have the opportunity to chose your guide, I would strongly Jack Lee!

Great tour, awesome guide! - My son and I booked this excursion with Denali Photo Guides in June of 2025. We were fairly new to large, expensive mirrorless cameras but bought one anyway and were hoping that this tour would help us figure it out a bit. Well, it did! Jack was our guide and was awesome. Not only did he help us with some settings, some POV tips and some overall ways to think about photography, but he also has some solid personal stories about his many years in Alaska. Jack is a really good dude and you could tell he loves what he does. Thanks Jack. Highly recommend this tour.

Excellent!! - My wife booked an excursion with Denali Photo Excursion through Princess Cruises and we could not have been more pleased. Paul Martin, our excursion guide, met us in the Denali Princess Lodge and from the get go were taken care of. Our small group of four travelers were comfortably transported in a sturdy Toyota Tundra to drive out and back on the Denali Highway. We made multiple stops along the way to take photos of the beautiful Alaskan scenery. At each stop Paul talked about tips and tricks to maximize capturing the moments. To say the least, Paul is very knowledgable in all things photography, from learning how to up your game in taking photos with your phone to nuancing aspects of your DSLR to take professional photographs.
I am sure all the guides at Denali Photo Excursion are very knowledgeable, and will give you similar experiences as we had, but Paul definitely hit it out of the park for us. We highly recommend using Denali Photo Excursion!

Fun and informative trip - We just completed the 6.30pm tour with Paul Martin. With it being a small group, a lot of attention can be given when needed. Lots of good information to help create better shots that tell great stories. Would recommend to anyone looking at taking better pictures. Good fun too.

Do this before other tours - This tour exceeded all of my expectations. I received a new camera as a gift and our guide, Jack Lee, was knowledgable helpful and very patient. Do this tour early in your visit and you will get much better pictures with your digital camera and your phone for the rest of your vacation.
Most importantly for me, I felt very safe with Jack as we went into areas of brush to get our shots. He knew where to find the animals and took our group of four to beautiful areas to do landscape shots. I would do this tour again.

Absolutely amazing - Jack gave us an amazing experience. I went along to accompany my wife and I got more out of it then she did! Jack taught us about our phones and what amazing pictures we can take with them. The back country was we saw was amazing and Jack was a great guide and teacher. Pleasant and professional!

Great one-on-one tour - Even though the weather was somewhat overcast and gloomy, Jack helped me take some wonderful pictures. He explained perspective, composition, and how to optimize my camera and phone settings in language that I understood. I really liked the small group setting that made for a very personalized tour experience. After I spend some time honing the new skills that Jack taught me, I will definitely take the Denali Colors of Sunset tour with Denali Photo Guides.

Highly recommend for all levels - The photo excursion was the highlight of our trip. Our guide, Jack, was absolutely phenomenal. He knew all the best spots and was incredibly knowledgeable about the area's wildlife and landscapes. Jack had amazing tips for smartphone photography and for advanced settings for my mirrorless camera. We captured some breathtaking shots of Denali's stunning scenery and unique wildlife. I highly recommend this tour and guide Jack to anyone looking for an incredible experience.

Disappointing photo excursion - Our guide did his best to bring value to our 3-hour excursion (spotted a moose and two calves), but the truth is that the weather was so gray and so dismal the excursion should have been canceled. The guide showed us some places with scenic value but the lighting was so bad we really did not come home with much to show for it.
