So much great food - do not eat before you come on this tour!! - Karim was wonderful enough to accommodate my last minute food tour request and he showed me a side of Alexandria that was DELICIOUS. We began with a couple of small sandwiches – sausage and beef, liver, both of which were served on these tiny little torpedo, like bread rolls. Next we stopped at this delightfully charming family dessert spot for omwali, this incredible bread pudding like dessert served with a dollop of butter and honey. SO GOOD! An Alexandrian pizza served with this super thin dough with pastrami cheese and tomatoes was next. Then a sweet cake called harissa (not to be confused with the spice) which evoked memories of southern cornbread (but with just enough sweetness). And lastly bread stuffed with falafel and veggies and another pocket of bread with mashed beans. You need to be ready to walk a lot but Karim will make it a fun long walk (and you’ll get your steps in). Very recommended!

Enjoyable Alexandria city tour - Rasha is an excellent guide! She knows the city and history very well and gives thorough explanations of the sites. It's much more interesting to see the historic sites with the background explanations. We also stopped for a perfect sugar cane juice, which was perfect for the day. Happy to find her as a guide. Highly recommended!
