During the journey, a briefing will be provided to enhance your understanding of dolphin biology, behavior, and conservation status. We proudly hold the High Quality Whale Watching certification. When we encounter a group of dolphins, we prioritize their well-being by approaching them according to the “good code of conduct” of our certification, minimizing any potential disturbance.

Utilizing photo-identification techniques, we can recognize dolphins by their dorsal fins and share their names, ages, and health status with you. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to listen to dolphin sounds, thanks to recordings collected by MareTerra NGO scientists for studying dolphin bioacoustics.

Throughout the navigation, you’ll enjoy the stunning coastline of Sardinia, within the Marine Protected Area Capo Caccia - Isola Piana.

Spend a day as a researcher with the scientists of MareTerra NGO and satisfy all your curiosities about dolphins. Watch as researchers gather scientific data to study the bottlenose dolphin population in the Gulf of Alghero. Learn about some of the most famous dolphins like Suzeo, Taz, and Shark Junior.

During snorkeling, a guide will lead you to explore underwater life. Onboard, we’ll share interesting facts about what we’ve seen. You’ll never be alone!

Our excursions are guided by the principles of ecotourism and sustainability:

• State-of-the-art boat engines that lower fuel consumption and reduce underwater noise emissions.
• HQWW certification (High Quality Whale Watching) for operators who follow the Code of Good Conduct, aimed at minimizing disturbances to cetaceans.
• Environmental education provided onboard.
• By joining Progetto Natura, you can support MareTerra NGO and its scientific research and conservation efforts.
• This tour is suitable for kids from 5 years old.
• Suitable sea conditions and a minimum number of people are required for this experience. In case of cancellation, you will be able to choose another date if available or a full refund. Other causes that may occasionally lead to cancellation of the tour are mechanical failures, health problems and requests for monitoring intervention for the protection of cetaceans that cannot be postponed and conflict with the date of the tour.
• The guides reserve the right to end the excursion early if it is not possible to guarantee the safety of the people on board or to respect the established program due to weather and sea conditions. The cost of the ticket could be reduced in case of early termination of the excursion.
• Warm clothes, waterproof jacket, water.
• No toilet on board.

• All persons who appear at the meeting point with a Reservation and are not eligible to participate in the activity, as indicated in the above points, will not be entitled to a refund. The company assumes no responsibility for any health problems if participants board without having communicated an unsuitable condition that is not visible or immediately recognizable to the staff.
• “MareTerra Group SNC Disclaimer Statement”. Activities that take place in the natural environment inevitably involve risks. To minimise this risk, personnel are adequately trained and the vehicles and equipment used are subject to routine and extraordinary maintenance when required. However, by participating in our excursions the Participant(s): 1) Declares under his/her own responsibility to be in good health and to exempt MareTerra Group SNC from any civil or criminal liability relating to and consequent to the assessment of such status. 2) He undertakes to behave in accordance with the principles of legality and respect for the principles of civility during the excursion and not to engage, in any case, in conduct contrary to the law and civil regulations that may endanger his own or the safety of others. 3) Indemnifies MareTerra Group SNC from any liability, direct or indirect, for any material or non-material damage, theft and/or damage to any personal object and/or expenses (including legal fees), which may arise as a result of participation in the excursion, also as a result of their own or others’ behavior. 4) Finally, by proceeding with the Reservation, you accept the terms and conditions and assume all responsibility that may arise from participation in the excursion and release MareTerra Group SNC from any civil and criminal liability, even objective, as a result of injuries caused to yourself or to third parties and illnesses that occurred during the entire duration of the excursion, including transfers by any means to and from the place of the excursion. 5) Pursuant to and for the purposes of Articles 1341 and 1342 of the Italian Civil Code, the Participant(s) declares that they have carefully examined all the clauses contained in this information and specifically approve all the points listed by proceeding with the Reservation.
