Best day out in ages! - Having found this experience and seen the range of cars on offer I joined the Great British Car Club via their web site. This gives 12 months access to the Great British Car Journey museum and café, and discount off drives and café. The museum has several galleries showing the history of the British car industry wit some fascinating cars well displayed. A tablet gives extra information and facts on the exhibits. Then came the time for my drive. I'd chosen Austin Cambridge, the first car I ever drove, Hillman Imp, the first cat I bought and Austin 1300 GT the car my family owned I'd liked best and found great fun to drive. I was accompanied by an instructor/ supervisor who was friendly and knowledgeable. I was able to take each car around multiple circuits of an industrial estate shared by the museum, and a slalom course of cones to discover the manoeuvrability of each. This isn't about speed it's a taste of what the cars were like to drive. Many of the cars are 60 years old. I'm 69. Open road driving for any driver would be an insurance nightmare and prohibitively costly. I'd arrived wondering if it would be enough. It was fabulous! Really hit the spot! So much so, I asked if there were any more slots available in the afternoon. Booked 2 available and was offeredy choice of any car already our and ready to drive. Chose Rolls Royce Silver Spirit and Morris Minor 1,000,000 special edition. Despite its size and weight, the Spirit wass effortless and incredibly manoeverable. Lunch in the cafe was tasty and good quality. The menu is limited, but there's something for everyone and cost was reasonable . Thank you for all who gave me one of the best days out in ages. There are about 60 cars on the drive fleet. About 17 are on my bucket list. I'll be back...several times! Thanks again!!!

An amazing time. - This was a present for my husband, i pre booked the 2 car drive and chose the ford capri and vauxhall viva. The staff were great quick and easy check in then off you go,hubby loved it, he even asked if he could book another car to drive despite it being busy he was allowed to,we had a 20 minute wait then off he went again. He had his photo taken and it included a digital download too. Going to book again for him & my brother for their birthdays. Price also included free entry to the museum next door.

Excellent place - Excellent choice of cars. 50 if I recall. Prebooked 3 cars. All in excellent condition. Very friendly staff and instructors. Around 20 mins each car. Can also buy the photos which are very good quality and price. Got 1 free entry with the experience to the museum, which had big variety of cars of various ages. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience from start to finish. Cafe on site too with a good choice of food and drinks all well priced. Can highly recommend.

Driving down memory lane - We enjoyed watching our Dad/Grandad go back in time, driving cars that he knew we'll at the time that they were manufactured. The staff were very helpful and we're passionate about the cars. The visit was easy to book and pay for and very well organised on the day. We also enjoyed having lunch in The Filling Station cafe. We would have liked to visit the museum but ran out of time, so will call back in future.

Great cars, a lot of fun, but poor circuit. - Overall a really great experience. It took me ages to decide beforehand which of the 50/60 available cars I really wanted to drive. I ended up with a Hillman Imp (the first of my Dad’s cars I can remember) plus my first car and a random one. The cars are well maintained (MOT roadworthy) run well, and are clean inside, and the “instructor” who came in the passenger seat was very friendly and patient (with my struggles with the Imp gears 😊). I got 20 minutes in each car which was fine, especially as the driving circuit is a rather limited repeat tour around a small builders merchant yard with a few pot holes and overlaps with the site entrance. Having to avoid visitors driving into the site and at one point opposite direction in the same road was a bit unexpected and inspiring. I really enjoyed the driving and the banter with the instructor, but I felt that the circuit itself left rather a lot to be desired.
