King Abdullah Mosque - The King Abdullah I Mosque, with its striking blue dome, was constructed in the 1980s by the late King Hussein as a tribute to his grandfather. It welcomes visitors of all faiths. The mosque’s nave spans 1,615 m2 and can accommodate 3,000 worshippers. Its octagonal design is notable for the absence of interior pillars. The dome, measuring 35 meters in diameter and 31 meters in height, features a radiant golden star at its center, surrounded by the Ninety-Nine Most Beautiful Names of Allah. A chandelier with 168 lanterns, arranged in three circles, displays a Quranic verse with the word Allah on each lantern. The mosque’s red carpet, adorned with intricate patterns, guides worshippers towards the Kiblah. The walls, including the Kiblah, pulpit, and Mihrab, are elegantly paneled with wood and marble oriels.

The Citadel - Jabal al-Qala, one of Amman’s seven hills, has been a significant seat of power since the Ammonian era, followed by Greek, Roman, and Byzantine rule, until the Islamic conquest in the 7th century AD, when the Umayyad Palace was constructed atop it. This hill became the capital of the Ammonians.
-
Roman Theatre - The Roman Amphitheatre, located in the eastern part of Amman at the base of Mount Jufa, is a historical site opposite Amman Castle. Greek inscriptions on a pillar reveal that it was built to honor Emperor Antonius Pius, who visited Amman in 130 AD.
