Upon arrival, you can explore the ancient city and its most significant sites, including:
- The Djinn Blocks, three large squat monuments named after the Arabic word for spirit, ‘djinn’. Built by the Nabataeans in the 1st century AD, their purpose remains a mystery.
- Petra Treasury, “Al Khazna”, standing almost 40 meters high, intricately decorated with Corinthian capitals, friezes, and figures. Recent excavations have revealed a graveyard beneath it.

After a day full of activities, spend the night in a Bedouin-style camp, enjoying the traditional atmosphere and an open buffet featuring Bedouin “Zarb” cooked in an underground oven.
Djinn Blocks - The Djinn Blocks in Petra are a distinctive feature of the ancient city, known for their reddish hue and intricate carvings. Believed to have been used in various structures, including temples and tombs, they were constructed by the Nabataeans over 2,000 years ago. The carvings often depict mythological creatures, including djinns, adding to the allure of Petra’s architecture.
Al-Khazneh - Al-Khazneh, or the Treasury, is one of Petra’s most iconic and well-preserved structures. Carved into the rose-red sandstone cliffs, it served as a mausoleum and likely dates back to the 1st century AD. Its elaborate facade features intricate carvings and columns, earning its name from the legend of pirates hiding treasures within. Al-Khazneh showcases the architectural and engineering prowess of the ancient Nabataeans and is a popular tourist attraction, featured in films like “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.”
Siq - Al-Siq is a narrow gorge that serves as the main entrance to Petra. This natural geological formation features towering cliffs up to 200 meters high, creating a dramatic entrance to the ancient city. Stretching approximately 1.2 kilometers, it boasts stunning rock formations and colorful striations, with occasional glimpses of the Treasury peeking through. Once the main access route for travelers entering Petra, it sets the stage for the grandeur of the ancient Nabatean city.
Wadi Rum Village - After completing the Petra tour, you will be picked up and taken to Wadi Rum via the King’s Way.
