- Golden Temple - Guests will be collected from their hotel and transported to the renowned Golden Temple, which is a small part of a vast gurdwara complex known to Sikhs as Harmandir Sahib. The temple complex features a large water tank, the Amrit Sarovar, which gives Amritsar its name. The waters of this tank are believed to have healing properties. Visitors can spend time inside the temple where readings from the Sikh holy book are conducted throughout the day.
- Jallianwala Bagh - Just a short walk from Harmandir Sahib is the historic Jallianwala Bagh, the site of a tragic event in 1919 when British Indian army troops fired on a crowd of Indians gathered for a peaceful protest. Over 1,000 people lost their lives, and an equal number were injured. Today, it is difficult to imagine that this beautiful place was once the scene of such a tragedy.
The next stop is for lunch (at personal expense) at a local restaurant.
- The Partition Museum - After lunch, the tour continues to the Partition Museum, which is dedicated to the memory of the 1947 Partition of the Indian subcontinent—its victims, survivors, and enduring legacy. During one of the most significant and painful upheavals in modern history, over twenty million people migrated to a new homeland across a hastily drawn border, leaving behind cherished memories. This event marked the largest mass migration in world history.
After visiting the museum, guests will be returned to their hotel.
