This is the final stop of the tour, where guests will conclude their experience outside the Golden Temple complex. - Akal Takht - Guests will witness the serene and spiritual Palki Sahib Night Ceremony at the Golden Temple, one of the most sacred and moving rituals in Sikhism. The ceremony begins at 9:30 PM, when the Guru Granth Sahib (the Sikh holy scripture) is ceremonially carried from the main sanctum inside the Golden Temple to the Akal Takht, its resting place for the night.
As the palki (palanquin) is prepared, devotees gather in large numbers, singing hymns and creating an atmosphere filled with devotion and peace. The sight of the beautifully decorated palki, the rhythmic chanting, and the glow of the temple lights reflecting off the holy sarovar (pool) makes this a truly unforgettable experience.
Our knowledgeable guide will accompany the group throughout, offering cultural and historical context, sharing stories about the ceremony’s significance, and answering any questions guests may have.
Note: Please arrive by 8:30 PM sharp at the designated meeting point outside McDonald’s near Golden Temple.

Join us for an extraordinary evening at the Golden Temple and experience the sacred Palki Sahib (Night Ceremony). Every night, the Guru Granth Sahib (holy scripture) is ceremoniously carried in a beautifully adorned palanquin from the sanctum, Harmandir Sahib, to the Akal Takht Sahib, accompanied by devotional hymns and traditional music. The ceremony commences after the evening prayer (Rehras Sahib) when the temple is magnificently illuminated. Walk barefoot across the glowing marble, observe the Golden Temple glistening under the night sky, listen to live kirtan, and witness the Sukhasan ritual where the scripture is laid to rest. With a knowledgeable Sikh guide, gain insights into the significance of each ritual, the core values of Sikhism—seva (service), equality, and love—and stories passed down through generations. While anyone can visit the Golden Temple, this guided experience allows you to truly connect with it. A profound spiritual journey that will leave you feeling humbled and inspired.
