Shakira was a fantastic... - Shakira was a fantastic guide with a great passion for telling stories that helped us understand Amsterdam. Her bubbly personality made it fun for all of the other riders. This was a great introduction to a fascinating city.

Amsterdam lights - The 1 hour cruise was a generous hour and included staff focused on making it a memorable event. The cost was moderate and that includes the extra refreshment cost.

Frustrating - Initially booked for 8.30 pm to ensure a sunset cruise. Contacted twice on the day as mechanical failures meant the 8.30 was not running. Moved to 8.15 then called again and moved to 8.00 pm which meant no sunset experience. Upon arrival the 8.00 pm was full so we were given an upgrade to the covered boat (one we booked was open so would have been freezing). Commentary was good, but it’s more about fun and cheese / wine than tourist information. Did enjoy it and the guides were great. Not sure what the original tour encompasses as we did not get to experience it.

Large boat, but little space and hardly any information from the guide - The boat tour itself was very nice. We were out for an hour Saturday evening at 9:15 p.m. However, the surroundings absolutely did not meet our expectations. On arrival everything was totally chaotic. The flagship staff seemed overwhelmed, everyone waited and didn't know where to go, in the end we left a quarter of an hour late. Basically not bad, but it was just so disorganized. I would be happy to briefly discuss what we said about the "scope of services" - because that was largely not fulfilled: 1. Private skipper and live guide -> unfortunately the guide only told us 3 times briefly: how old Amsterdam is, how deep the canals are, why the dancing houses are called that and that it smells like grass everywhere. Where we've been sailing around everywhere, I don't know, we really expected more. So we could have booked a normal boat trip for far less money. 2. Unique experience on a luxury boat -> the "Eveline" was a normal excursion boat, very cramped and since the drinks were stored under the benches, the staff had to constantly reach from the side under us and pull out the cabinets with a lot of rumble. 3.Friendly atmosphere with a small group of people -> friendly atmosphere with a drunken bachelorette party on board is one such thing. It was pretty loud. Small group of people is a matter of definition, there were about 60 people... Rather no. 4 Bar an Bord -> there was no bar. There were chilled drinks stored under the benches. We were the only one on the boat not to have a drink flat, but our booking included drinks at our own expense. However, we weren’t even asked if we wanted to buy anything, because the two waiters were quasi permanently busy distributing cheese and drinks to everyone else. All in all, I would definitely book somewhere else if I did a boat tour in Amsterdam again.

OK, but wouldn't repeat - The cruise was not bad but not what we expected. The booking said that it would be an open air boat with warm blankets which was what we wanted. At the dock half of the people were put onto an open air boat and half (including us) were put onto an enclosed boat, which was absolutely packed (the last groups on were split up to join other groups). The views were quite limited and the commentary was not the best but it was nice to be on the water and the light of the golden hour was beautiful.

Disappointing - Unfortunately, disappointing. Our booking information and ticket gave us a street address and the “organizer” Voyage Amsterdam. Street addresses had no relationship to the dock area. More than a dozen cruise operators ring the area. None of them were Voyager Amsterdam. No sign. So flag. No boat with name. Finally we asked some other operator about Voyage Amsterdam. We asked 3 you f ladies in orange shirts…2 didn’t know, one said “oh, that’s us”. They pointed to the dock just as our boat left the dock. The shirts said Flagship - how we were we to know same as Voyage, even the employees didn’t know. We did take a boat about 20 minutes later, which was not a covered boat with narrated tour, but an open booze cruise with minimal commentary, only 45 minutes long. A pleasant float but not what I purchased. Poor job.
