Children of survivors - It was very moving. As my husband and I are children of halocust survivors. All our parents were left orphans alone with most of their family killed. My mother in law survived auschwitz #A7446. She just passed away a few months ago at the age of 98. She lived to see 5 generations and over 200 descendants. A very special woman. My.mother was alone in a dp camp with a sister the only survivors of the war. I would love to see more pictures of the orthodox people. I was happy to see a quote of Eli Weisel my cousin. My father and Eli shared a grandfather.

Interesting. - Very nice experience, the museum ES very serious and quiet, the system DE audio guides seems great but I understand NO have it in Spanish language. I traveled with my mother who speaks NO English and could use NO audio guide, I could translate it all to ME but it was not the idea. POR everything else, we really liked the experience and the museum staff super nice.

A Detailed History of the Holocause. - Unlike other Holocaust museums, the Amsterdam museum focuses more on the choronological progression of The Shoah and the role of rescuers as well as collaborators...as opposed to photo evidence of the injustices or atrocities. Both approachs are equally valid and together they give a complete picturen of what really happened.

Definitely visit - Don't go on minimal time. Give yourself 2 hrs to listen and to read the documents. It is so well displayed and explained in a timely order. The staff are excellent and the ear pieces are a must- they translate in a lot of different languages.

The dedicated staff were outstanding - What struck me most here apart from the quality of the museum itself was the passion and dedication that was shown consistently by all the staff. They really care about the museum and went to great lengths to make it clear that their visitors really mattered. It felt like they all had buy-in to the project and their dedication was wonderful. This museum should be visited by as many people as possible to ensure that the horrors of the holocaust can never happen again.

Harrowing, but excellent - This is a small museum that covers the Holocaust from the Dutch perspective. It's well laid-out and is blunt in its description of what the Holocaust victims suffered and the extent of Dutch collaboration. While it mainly deals with Jewish victims, Romany and Sinti victims are also mentioned. In spite of visiting several Holocaust museums over the years, this visit was a very moving one. I was somewhat reluctant to visit due the horrific campaign being conducted by Israeli forces in Gaza (December 2024). I needn't have been concerned as this museum rightly focuses on the horrors of the Holocaust.

Really interesting - Really interesting especially that it’s in the old school building where the children were saved. We didn’t read all the hanging signs in the room in the ground floor as there were so many.

Moving Stories but Poorly Organized - The museum had moving stories but was poorly organized. The audio didn't always connect to your location/items in front of you. We have been to much better museums.
