Discovering Anstendans with Alex. - We have done the tour with Alex Goeda, he has told us so many things about the Jewish Quarter, and so many facts about the war etc... that he is a very cultured and enlightened guide and very friendly, we recommend it without any doubt. Thanks Alex for your recommendations.

Amazing Amsterdam! - Fantastic tour with Danny! I have been to Amsterdam before and I learned a whole lot about the city that I didn’t know before. My boyfriend and I both enjoyed the tour and all of the highlights that it provided. I would absolutely recommend to a friend!

Alex the best guide! - Alex is an exceptional tour guide! Our experience in Amsterdam was unforgettable thanks to his deep knowledge of the city and his passion for sharing it with us. Alex took us to iconic landmarks and showed us secrets and curiosities that we would not have discovered on our own. His friendliness and professionalism made us feel comfortable and relaxed throughout the tour. We highly recommend Alex and his tour guide service! Federico and Eliana

Great tour! - When I travel, I sometimes go on a tour of the city I am visiting as I like to learn about the history of the area. I prefer to go on tours at the beginning of my trip as it helps with figuring out how to get around the city as well as discover attractions and sites I may not have been aware of. Sandeman's New Europe tours are free, but you're expected to tip the guide at the end of the tour, which is a win-win for everyone -- you don't need to pay more than you can afford, and the guide ends up making a decent amount. And because their wage depends on what people will pay them, the tour guides make an effort at being knowledgeable, entertaining, and personable. Sandeman's also offers paid tours to certain attractions. I've previously been on free Sandeman's tours in Berlin and Prague (as well as some paid tours), and the tour guides have been excellent, so I signed up for a free tour on our first full day in Amsterdam. Unfortunately it was raining at the beginning of the tour, but despite the weather, I had a good time and learned a lot about Amsterdam's history. The tour was two hours and started in Dam Square. The name of our tour guide was Pau, and she was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Because of the tour, I learned about Stolpersteine, or Stumbling Stones, a memorial to victims of the Holocaust. If you like learning about the history of the cities you visit and don't want to spend an arm and a leg, I highly recommend Sandeman's New Europe tours.

Cancellation, no refund - Tour was canceled a few days before it was scheduled, presumably a guide issue - ok I understand. Alternate dates were offered, but I was not in amsterdam for those dates and/or had other reservations already. I have made multiple requests to have my prepayment refunded to no avail (once I made this request they ghosted me), and now forced to dispute the charge with the credit card. It was a measly 3 euros to hold my reservation for the "free" tour, but on principal this is not acceptable.

Dire experience with a guide who camels with his Argentine accent - We did the Sandeman freetour with Agustin, a boy who with his Argentine accent camels, but you finish the freetour with a foolish face.... we saw absolutely nothing emblematic of Amsterdam, he put us in a university yard that has little interest, really. A disappointment. I do not recommend it at all. On top of that it's the only freetour I've done that says the approximate amount people pay pulling up obviously. What a jackpot.
