Smooth and Well organized - Our guide was very well educated on the area and a lot of fun. The tour was exactly as described and everything went smooth and on time. It was a great way to visit Zaanse Schans from Amsterdam.

So glad we went. We learned a lot. I liked seeing where Rembrandt had bought his colors from the paint windmill. - The guide was absolutely wonderful. We enjoyed seeing the windmills, how wooden shoes were made and learn and taste Dutch cheese.

Wonderful half day tour to the cutest towns - Zaanse Schans Windmills and Volenda - Rob was an excellent guide who gave us enough history and information on our half day trip to Zaanse Schans Windmills and Volendam. We had a pleasant day exploring the sites with a quick tour of the clog and cheese making factory without any pressure to purchase anything. We had sufficient time to explore the sites and take all the IG worthy photos. Thanks again Rob you were great. And say hello to Kevin our driver too.

Fun and Fabulous experience - Loved this day trip out of Amsterdam exploring the other little towns and villages and seeing the windmills. It was a very good well paced tour although I would prefer a smaller group, this was good value for money. Saw a lot Loved the village of Volendam the most. It was the highlight for me Getting close with the clog makers and also cheese tastings and windmills was also good to see the Netherlands at its best.

Recommended tour - The tour was very informative and relaxed, we had enough time to see all the important typical Dutch highlights. Our tour guide was very professional with a lot of knowledge about the places we visited. This is a very highly recommended tour!

This is a 1/2 day trip in... - This is a 1/2 day trip in the morning and you will see a cheese & shoe making demonstration. Then you have free time to take pictures with the windmills before hoping on a bus to Vollendam, a seaside town where you have 1hr free time.

It's fine for the price - I will preface my review by saying that since I took the tour, the company has changed the itinerary and dropped one stop (Edam) and changed which cheese shop/dairy farm they visit. So keep that in mind. Overall, this was a pretty average tour: not outstanding but not bad, either. Our guide was fine, but the overall level of commentary throughout the different stops was pretty basic. Our first stop of the tour was at a Henry Zwilling cheese shop for a demonstration that was, quite frankly, very disappointing. The woman from the shop stood around a collection of their equipment and spoke for maybe two minutes before ushering us into the shop to buy cheese. From there we went to Edam, which was a lovely town to walk around. I wish we had had more time there to wander around the town, because it looked charming, but this was a very short stop before moving on to Volendam. We really only stopped at a church and the central square for a few minutes each. In Volendam, we were dropped off at the boardwalk and told we had more than an hour to explore and eat lunch. We didn't get any walking tour/guided experience in Volendam, which would have been nice. As a lunch stop, it was a pretty commercial area, but fine. Our final stop was Zaanse Schans, where it was cool to walk around the windmills, but admission wasn't included with the tour so you had to pay separately if you wanted to go in. All in all, the tour was an OK value, if for no other reason than it got you easy transportation to these three different places. It looks like they've dropped Edam from the itinerary, without a corresponding drop in price, so I'm not sure it's such a value anymore. If you want a quick hit of the Dutch countryside, this is an OK way to do that. If you're looking for a healthy dose of authenticity or in-depth commentary, this might not be for you.

Disappointingly poor - Meet & greet good, windmills ok but the cheese farm was laughably poor! A quick minute of about cheese making, then try and buy! Trip felt more like a constant sales exercise and worst trip we have taken on our travels. Thankfully Harold the guide was entertaining and informative!

Not great at all! - The scenery is certainly pretty but this tour is still a tourist factory. The explanations in the farm or workshop of the sabotier last barely 5 minutes and the guides lead us directly to souvenir shops! Not to mention the Zaanse Schans which should be renamed Disneyland! It is indeed like a real amusement park. Too bad.
