Great way to learn about Red Light District - I really enjoyed, and learned a lot, from the Red Light Museum. The museum is in the building of a former Red Light District building, including the famous windows, and that gives visitors a direct insight into what working in the red light district would be like. You learn about the history of the district, the requirements to work there, what life is like to work there, the threats people working there can face, unique subsets of the profession such as dominatrixs, and an overall history of prostitution including modern news stories/scandals. The museum took about an hour to go through, but I could have spent another hour reading the fascinating anonymous notes about sex that visitors have left in the final room of the museum. I unfortunately wasted my money and time visiting the Museum of Sex in Amsterdam, but the Red Light Museum will not disappoint you and will teach you, entertain you, and of course provides the perfect photo op of you being able to sell your wares in an authentic Red Light District Window! Keep your eye out for any spinning coupon wheels in hotels or restaurants as I found a coupon for a few euros off my entrance to the museum there.

A good insight - Visited as part of a trip with my Daughter (21) as it felt the only way we could really experience the RLD other than wandering round and learn more about the area and the women that work there. It was a little eye opening, and I did wonder if this was the right place for a Mother and Daughter, however I'm glad I went. Inga's narration was brilliant, really warmed to her. It was a fascinating insight to something I know very little of and I really wanted to come away feeling that the women behind the windows were all there because they wanted to be and were safe, unfortunately this isn't always the case. I still think it's an important story to tell, and I'm sorry it's not safer for the women, but hope that places like this will educate tourists and the people that engage with the sex workers. The confession wall - there were some I wish I could unread, but don't miss it 🤣

Surprisingly good - Much better than I expected. We had a little time to fill between plans. The admission price was reasonable and the time was right. This museum is a better way to understand the red light district than just walking through. The information is interesting, depressing at times, but being grounded in the reality of the sex worker industry makes this worth while.

A Truly Illuminating Experience - An illuminating experience. I appreciated learning the: stories of the various prostitutes', seeing a prostitutes' room, how they lived, how much they paid for the window spaces, etc. I found the prostitutes' stories revealing and sometimes harrowing. A truly educational experience and insight into a unique location and profession.

Can't go wrong for what you pay, good value - Good value for the price and location. Informative and light hearted. Only downside is the volume of people at once in there, but it's worth a trip

Not our favourite, but ok - The check in staff were funny and friendly. Learned a bit about the area via their audio guide, but overall, not our favourite.

Find a better attraction - After visiting the sex machines museum in Prague we thought this would be similar….it is not. Had hoped for more history and information but watched all films and read all details and still spent less than an hour. Better ways to spend money in Amsterdam
