Great introduction to Amsterdam - highly recommend - David was a wonderful guide. In addition to pointing out key points of interest, he took us to areas we would never have found on our own. He loves history and art and told us the history of the city in an interesting way. We loved the small group. It was easy to ask questions and get around the city. He also provided us with a list of recommendations for the rest of our trip.

A great tour of Amsterdam. - We had the very great pleasure of meeting our host David for a three hour walking tour of Amsterdam. Knowing very little about the city, his knowledge and enthusiasm for it certainly surpassed our expectations. He shared detailed information about the history, culture and people of Amsterdam and his passion for it all was clearly evident. It was a fun, informative and engaging morning and we would highly recommend David and his walking tour.

A memorable, enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour.and fun to be part of. - Thank you David for sharing your knowledge, enthusiasm and fun on a bitterly cold February Tuesday. It was a very memorable experience and we learned so much about the essence of Amsterdam and it's people. Thank you for your kindness to my husband John and enthusiastically bringing him to the end of the tour. Continued success , you are a tonic and a very bright spark .

Among the best: knowledgeable, generous - We had the pleasure of a group of two: me, wife. David reached out to ensure meeting up. From there, we learned buildings, dates, histories, social science, best foods, architecture, etc. And a stop for the world’s best cookie. Tour was so good we had him join us at the Van Gogh the next day.

A Must-Do Amsterdam Walking Tour with Incredible Local Insights - This walking tour was an absolute highlight of our time in Amsterdam. David was truly amazing—knowledgeable, engaging, and full of local insight you’d never get on your own. It felt less like a tour and more like being shown around by a well-connected local friend. We loved the mix of history and hidden gems, from stopping at the peaceful Women’s Abbey (Begijnhof) to learning fascinating stories tucked away in quiet streets we would have walked right past. One of our favorites was the stop at Van Stapele Koekmakerij—hands down some of the best chocolate cookies we’ve ever had. The pacing was perfect, the stories were memorable, and the recommendations for food, neighborhoods, and things to do after the tour were invaluable. If you want to see Amsterdam beyond the tourist highlights and really understand the city, this walking tour is a must. Highly, highly recommend!

Great to know Amsterdam fast with someone who loves it. - David was truly wonderful - very knowledgeable about everything Dutch, he brought it to life with a thespian buzz. This is a great way to get to know Amsterdam quickly, see some parts you'd miss as a standard tourist AND make art interesting (amazing feat!). I get the impression David just loves showing off his adopted city as only an outsider could. Highly recommended. Thank you David

An incredible museum tour with David - If you are contemplating booking a tour with David, do it! We had the pleasure to be guided by him at the incredible Rijksmuseum. His knowledge and wit was truly a treat. He was extremely knowledgeable. We would have missed so many details about the masterpieces in the museum without him there. We highly recommend him and look forward to booking again with him on our next visit to Amsterdam. P.s. If you get the chance to book the 9am tour, David will take you to see the most popular artwork before it gets overrun with people. He took several photos of us when we had the place all to ourselves. A true highlight!!

Amazing Museum Tour with David - We had a 3-hour Rikjsmuseum tour with David on 10/23/25 at 0900. The experience with him was epic and unforgettable. His enthusiasm, knowledge, and passion are unique. Thanks to him, we were able to appreciate the beautiful artwork on a different level. He took the time to talk about Dutch history and how the artwork and other pieces we saw were relevant to their times. He pointed out tiny significant details in each piece that we would have missed or been unaware of their meanings. His tour was one of those few where the time truly flew and as soon as it was over, you think, “I would do that all over again right this minute.” If you get an opportunity to do a tour with David, you should. You won’t be disappointed and you will have a deeper understanding of a very interesting slice of world history.
