• Long Rifle Lodge - After the initial glacier hike, you have the option to purchase lunch at a local restaurant with a view of the glacier. This picturesque location offers a chance to warm up, enjoy stunning views of the surrounding mountains and ice fields, and refuel with a hearty, satisfying meal. The tour kicks off with a convenient pick-up from your hotel or directly from our office. Enjoy the comfort of our new Mercedes Sprinter vans and the expertise of your Alaskan guide. As you depart Anchorage, some highlights will be shared. Traveling north on the Glenn Highway, your guide will provide fascinating insights en route to the Matanuska Glacier and the various communities along the way.

Upon arrival at Matanuska Glacier, the glacier guides will equip you with ice spikes and helmets (during the summer); hiking poles are also available for your convenience. These guides are experts in the glacier’s daily offerings and will collaborate with our glacier guides to ensure an unforgettable experience.

There will be plenty of opportunities for stunning photographs! After your approximately 2-hour ice adventure, enjoy lunch at a genuine Alaskan lodge with a breathtaking view of the glacier. On the return journey, we’ll pause at scenic spots for enjoyment before dropping you off at your accommodation in Anchorage.
